Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me which of the following boards should I buy? and please come with some arguments on why should I choose one over the other?

http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=610&l4=0&model=1981&modelmenu=2

or

http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=132-CK-NF78-A1&family=Motherboard Family

I have an Intel Q6600 processor and 4GB of Corsair Memory@1066Mhz (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145197) and a BFG 9800GX2.

Baring in mind the components mentioned above, what would be the best choice for me?

Many many thanks!!

I would say Evga. But i bet most will say Asus because Evga has had some problems in the past with there reliability.

Neither IMO. Go 750i.

EDIT: They are a little cheaper and the 780i I heard had data corruption problems

Thanks. I've seen that the evga mobo supports 1200mhz ram. now...my question is...will it support the 1066mhz corsairs I already have?

EDIT: another thing, I'm thinking on selling my LG 226WA-WN LCD HDready monitor and buy a 81cm LCD TV HD Ready. My question is will the computer be able to see the TV directly if I will plug it in via HDMI or will I need a monitor first to do the setup?

THX again!

Ive heard asus has had some serious problems in the 780i bios for memory compatibility and stability

itll support the 1066, you'll probably have to set everything up manually timing-wise and such though

Ya those corsairs will run just fine on the EVGA. The last bios release for the 780i seemed to clear up a lot of problems. The Evga 780i is a half decent board and likes low NB and SB voltages up over 450fsb and is a good Oc'ing board. As was mentioned the EVGA 750i FTW is the SLI board to own(damn good Oc'r, solid state capacitors, 6 phase power)...that is until the EVGA 780i FTW hits the shelves (sometime soon).

+1 to this, I've heard the only solid 700 series chipset from NVidia is the 750i.
