The Kingwin Lazer Platinum LZP-550 is based on Super Flower's platinum platform (Golden King 550W) and according to the manufacturer achieves over 92% efficiency. The power supply's fan will only spin beyond a certain temperature, so the PSU will emit no noise at low loads. In our review we find that this power supply is the best model available in its power range at this time.

Wow, this PSU is amazing! :rockout:

My Corsair HX850W is a top-dog PSU and this thing beats it easily. Excellent, we need more products like this.

90% efficiency at 120% load. That's impressive.

Keep in mind crmaris tests at 230V. So efficiency is always going to be somewhat higher than at 115V. But this thing is still king of the hill in its segment.

still that is all gold all the time at our voltage and platinum most of the time. I Guess with platinum they can charge more for lower wattage. Id like to see a 700W bad boy with a gold rating at 850w :)

I want one, but there seems to be no UK sellers that are selling these. :(

Hopefully it will appear sooner or later...

This review was handy. My 850 HX went kaput and I decided to pick one of these up. By far the best psu I've ever owned. Using much less watts at idle and cold boot time is faster. Surprised how noticeable it is considering how good the HX supposedly was.

The HX850W is an excellent PSU, you just got unlucky with your one, unfortunately. Mine still works like a champ.

This Kingwin looks fantastic though, we need more like this.

Hi everyone! Would this PSU work on a MSI HD6970 Lightning? I ask because the Lightning version of the HD 6970 has a doulbe 4 pin connectors. This one only comes with 3 pin plus 4 pin connectors. If not then would the LZP 750W be a better fit?

Thanks!

It will work with the 550 as it has an additional 6+2 pin connector you can attach modularly, but in that case the hardwired 6pin would be taking up room. On the 750 both hardwired cables are 6+2 pin so while it would work with either unit the 750 would have neater cable management in your case.
