I prefer single rail PSU designs as well, but I have seen single and multi-rail PSU's both die, from good and crap vendors. Generally, if you go with a main-stream name, get at least 80+, and at least 100W more than you need, and a 5+ year warranty preferred, you'll be ok. Stay away from the chinese $20 PSU's and you'll generally be okay. I very rarely see a mainstream PSU fail anymore...seems that quality is better than it was in years past...or I've been lucky and so have my customers.
