3.5" SSDs

I've not seen much discussion of these, and everyone I know who has an SSD uses a 2.5" form-factor. Basically, what I want to know is what's the difference?

2.5" drives of a similar price have lower capacities and/or slower read/write times it seems, even with SATA III.

There were a few 3.5's when ssds first came out. Guess the industry has decided to go smaller or pci.

I think most of the 3.5 drives had internal raid0 setups with 2 smaller SSD enclosed. Someone correct me if i'm wrong?

I bought a 3.5 inch 180GB V2 simply because it was the cheapest 180GB Sandforce available at the time. Many if not most of the consumer 3.5 SSDs are actually 2.5 or 1.8 SSDs inside a 3.5 case. I would open mine up to show you but I want to keep the warranty.
