Hi All,

Just wondering if their is a version of NVFlash which works on 3060 Ti FE, currently I have tried to flash the MSI bios on my FE but get error about mismatched board ID, even after setting protectoff :(

Would really appreciate your tips :)

@Isaac`
Second card is actually sat in another pc right next to me now, will be keeping it.
And as this place is techpowerup, if you dont like the type of people who come here and post (overclockers like me) why dont you close your account and go somewhere else ?

Don't think it has been updated to support Ampere yet. If you haven't yet, would be sure to save your old BIOS now.

Thanks dark2099 , Bios saved already, its also already on the Techpowerup VGA Bios collection so I can download anytime if needed.
I heard some people with 3080 FE's are also having issue flashing to AIB Partner bios, not sure if this is because we need to wait for new NVFlash or if we are blocked in hardware.

The reason I want to do this is because its fun, I have been doing this for the last 12 years going all the way back to the GTX 280 days, I have a suspision that you were probably still in nappies when I was overclocking 280 cards.....

People need to chill, your opinions about BIOS flashing are not valued by OP himself, go give your opinions somewhere else.

To OP, FE cards are particularly hard to cross flash, especially for this generation because Ampere use non-reference PCB for their FE cards. You will need modded NVflash to flash your FE card. Anyways you will find more help in overclock.net forum. People in this forum are against BIOS flashing and overclocking for some reasons...

Stay on topic.
Stop the personal attacks.
It is the OP's hardware and it is his prerogative to do with it what he wants.
If you don't want to help the OP, then move to another thread you may enjoy.

Oh, by the way... TPU was, and still is, the go to place to experiment, mod, and OC your hardware.

Thank You and Have a Good Day.

instead of nvflash and keeping a second video card around pick up a ch341a with clip. like THIS. Also, dont let the other people here stop you from the pursuit of ultimate fps. people have been modding stuff for decades. its human nature.

back on topic. that programmer will get you out of a lot of tight places. pm me for the software for it and if you need help.

Has anyone suggest returning the fe and just buying the msi card
surely that will have the performance gains your looking for

Thanks @Final_Fighter :) Just ordered one.

Now to identify which is the bios chip ?

From what I understand, NVIDIA locked this down even more on Ampere. Do let us know your results with a flasher, make sure to make a backup of your original BIOS.

My first guess for BIOS chip would be U16, front side, near gpu, google the text on it

Flasher should be here on Wednesday.
But I think Nvidia's funky power cable connecter may rain on the day with regards to power measurement in bios.

Hi all, just partially took apart my 3060 Ti to flash the bios, stopped when I got to the part of taking of the ribbon connectors on back top left and back bottom right, is there a special way to remove these from the connectors whithout breaking them ?

yes, fold the black flap upwards then pull out the cable. check the disassembly section of one of my recent FE reviews, more info there

Doesn't look like there's any approved way of doing it. Lift up the black tab and be gentle i guess.

Starting at 7:25 is the ribbon cable

damn, got ninja'd by wizz

So managed to get the ribbon cables off ( pretty simple really :) ) , attached rom flasher to bios chip but the software didnt detect what bios chip it was.
Software I am using is : CH341A Mini Programmer (Black Edition) By_NSC.
I pressed read rom and it did read 16MB of data, file here if anybody wants to take a look : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mS8PtWxGAmk2s3-ow0arFTXLJm2YsZI_/view?usp=sharing
But 16MB seems way to big compared to what is available here on the VGA database.

So if anybody has some other software that can read this bios chip i'd be happy to give it another try.

I did take advantage of having the card apart to apply some thermal grizzly as the paste that was on there was hard as nails :)

Checking through the file I pulled in notepad++ I definately see some references to Nvidia though

Yeah that is your BIOS. If you look in a hex editor you'll see that data repeats every 1 MB

You are no overclocker at all since you lack the knowledge to pull the plastic retention locker out of that flat cable port :D .... just dump that card , its useless now . Hey how `bout 2 bucks for that gpu cooler ? :) - you cant add shaders and processors to a gpu so oc-ing is uselless not much of gain for a lot of risk and lost time. You do know that if you scratch that board over surface thats a dead gpu. Nice phone you got there, is it bios moded? :D

Checking through the file...

Funny cause it says"

If you want to flash a RTX Founders Edition board with a non-FE BIOS, use this modded version of NVFlash."

Not working for FE card unfortunately.....
So nvidia app no work on nvidia hardware.
Sneaky basterds.

Did you do 2 dashes ?
--protectoff ?

The nvflash i used didnt need 64
Did you disable the card in device manager ,?

Has anyone suggest returning the fe and just buying the msi card
surely that will have the performance gains your looking for
Then he can flash a asus bios and clock 100 mhz higher
