My observations are similar, I just don't see how it's noticeably different from how it was in S0 and S1.

Have you run any corecycler with the boost override on? Just default config, be done in like 50min.

I'm here at 1440p ultra with DLSS quality and MW2 really doesn't hit high boost clocks at all, but Vcache skews CPU behaviour a bit. Are you able to keep HWInfo running and see how high your boost clocks in game are?

Ran corecycler with 50mhz boost and all seems fine. Was on default config and moved on to iteration 2.

I'm also on 1440p ultra but I don't use FSR. Still getting around 160 - 200 FPS. I will put on HWinfo and see what the boost clocks are.

Seems like COD likes to bounce around what core is fastest. Corecycler somehow reset my GPU fan curve too.

@izy On 3733/1867, 200mhz boost. Tried cod and numerous benchmarks, seems to be holding up.

Correction. Did not like cod at all. Now on 3600/1800 50mhz boost and it's okay.
Try adding +10 or something in CO , maybe its just a core that doesnt like it.

Can you add +10 in bios as Ryzen Master has been deleted. Or shall I just use PBO2?

you should optimised per core
check the event log for the APIC id indicating what core failed then add +5 to that (example -20 > -15)

After going through the corecycler log, none of my cores failed.

I can't find APIC anywhere in event viewer.

look for event id 18 the apic id is in the details (assuming its crashing because of a cpu core)

Well I found these. Left it on the latest error.

Cache Hierarchy is a core WHEA, V-F problems, not enough Vcore for the clock asked. Gonna need to either lay off the boost override or start adding positive CO.

I guess +50 isn't stable either, maybe just to a lesser degree. Judging from HWInfo I think it's safe to say that MW2 is actually boosting to Fmax, didn't really expect that. I haven't even seen over 4GHz from the game lately.

MW2 isn't random, it's load juggling between your two #1 ranked cores, Core 1 and 6. Pretty normal for any chip.

I haven't got any errors from today and I've had no issues from cod today. I only changed the the boost to +50 today too. I'm going to leave it as it is until is has any issues and then I'll just reset the CPU to factory, delete all the benchmarks and leave it alone. Nothing worse than not knowing what you are doing and wanting to punch things.

and tbh please stop using cod is as a mesuring stick
its just simply broken there is a server side issue I belive is causing the random crashes

usually with cod what happens is the gpu driver crashes which crashes the game you can verify this with the event viewer
look for the driver crash in the system log then the game crash about .005s seconds later in the application log
the game is broken on nvidia has been since launch. I have friends with stock multiplier locked OEM systems with ryzen 5000 and nvida cards and it crashes ... a lot
it can't be trusted

you may want to set LLC to standardor medium as it can smooth out the voltage dip when the load rapidly changes between cores
I find AGESA 1.2.0.8 a bit more stable then 1.2.0.7 so if your board has a bios update a upgrade isn't a bad plan

I'm only using cod as the example as it's the only game I'm playing at the moment.

I've had WAY more crashes resulting in reboots than display driver fails, but I know that is due to system instability.

What is a "LLC"? Just checked and there is no bios update for my board yet.

Here you can find in CO in MSI BIOS, you should try using Positive Offset and see if it fixes your problem, you can try a +10 all core and if it works you can search for the core that maybe needs more voltage for AutoOC to work and just set CO per CORE after. I am using the CO from OC menu but seems you can find it in SETTINGS too.

EDIT: Or you can use PBO2 tuner from windows and test first then set it in the bios.

figure out what cores or core's is unhappy and then decrease the ammount of negative offset on that core by 5 untill its stable
repeat for all cores

So if I want to run my 5800x as efficient as possible and the fastest and stable for gaming is it best to just run the ECO 95w setting? Or should that be tweaked further?

Use Curve optimizer to undervolt and set lower values to PPT etc.

Unfortunately CO causes stability issues..does setting lower PPT make the CPU work as efficient as possible? Meaning when Im just doing light duty stuff its not using CPU power much? Also what part of the PBO affects the temps of the cpu?

CO needs some work, you need figure out what - offset can each core handle.

TDP: Thermal Design Power
PPT: Package Power Tracking
EDC: Electrical De-sign Current

Setting this lower but not too low will restrict the CPU in all core loads and ofc your temps will be lower, you need to play with them and find what you like best. (you can search this thread as people tried different settings etc)

If you can run ECO 95W with -30 all core stable then that would be much more efficient than stock for a 5800X.

Well isn't running 95w eco already much more efficient than stock settings? I just found the pc was unstable when messing with Co. It could pass all cinebench tests but would crash in certain games.
