Well isn't running 95w eco already much more efficient than stock settings? I just found the pc was unstable when messing with Co. It could pass all cinebench tests but would crash in certain games.
Yes, just running 95W will be more efficient than stock.

You did asked for efficient as possible fastest and stable, that would involve using CO.

There are programs like corecycler or Ryzen master that can be used to find a stable CO. I use Hydra personally but its not the best for beginners.

Or you can just try lower CO like -15 all core etc until you find something that does not crash in game. its usually 1 or 2 cores that causes this crashing issue.

How can I test Co in Ryzen master? Does adding any boost help and what is best to lowern to get better cpu temps?

Dog damn Asus and their crap BIOS updates I went from 4403 to 4408 and now none of the PBO, TDC, EDC settings work anymore doesn't matter which ones I adjust
PPT: 95 TDC: 60 EDC:90
but according to HWinfo my system is using PPT: 165 TDC: 98.3 EDC: 98.3 while running CB23 multi and temps are hitting 98c

What does PBO2 tuner report as the power limits being currently applied?

On non-X3D CPUs, PBO settings exist in multiple places on Asus BIOS. If one location isn't working, try another. There's one under Advanced>AMD OC, and one in the main Extreme Tweaker page.

PBO Tuner reads
PPT:95
TDC:60
EDC:90

I may have fixed it though seems I should have set optimised defaults first then gone in a input the settings temps are now only topping out at 61c when running CB23 and PPT TDC EDC seem to now be behaving themselves so I think this was just me having DUH moment

thanks for the help though

-15 all core crashed death loop.. As I said before it seems messing with Co makes games unstable..

Anyways can anyone help me in making this cpu more efficient? So I'm coming from an Intel 4690k and I used Asus ai suite 3 with this cpu. When I was browsing the internet and doing light duty tasks the cpu would throttle down to very low speeds. However on this 5800x it never seems to do that.. Is there a way to make it do the same?

IF you have just 1 unstable core it can bring the whole system down when you apply a negative offset.

There are plenty of good videos / guides on YT.
IF not stick to 95W ECO Mode or 65W ECO mode.

You can do this using windows power plans. Power save will drop clocks down default profile should be balanced.

I think I have mine on balanced. However when just doing light tasks I can see the CPUs running at 3800 and higher.. It Is completely wasted power.. I liked how the Asus software would lower clocks on the fly and when gaming higher..

Popular monitoring tools do not report Zen clocks correctly. Use Ryzen Master to monitor them. When fully idle, it should say "sleep" next to every core:

I see but why is the cpu running at 3800 for simple web browsing instead of down clocking? My old Intel would down clock when power was not needed but this amd doesn't. Is there anyway to have it do like the Asus ai suite and down clock when not needed

My 5700x sits at 3600mhz / 0.91v @ idle.
Did you enable C-states? (i think i have it disabled)

No I don't even know what c states does? I figured in eco mode the cpu throttles down on its own when power isn't needed but obviously not. I haven't changed anything in bios besides eco mode and allow wake with mouse...

Because it's not at 3.8GHz, and you don't understand CPPC2......read Ryzen Master or HWInfo's Effective Clock metric if you want a more accurate picture at idle behaviour.

Users' eyes and monitoring software will never be fast enough to see what Ryzen is really doing when it is able to respond to load in ~2ms intervals. The fastest that any of these monitoring softwares can go is what, 500ms polling interval?

Leave the PC alone for a couple seconds and it should come back to idle if nothing is going on in the foreground/background. If package power ≈ 20W or less, you are at idle.

You have to enable it in BIOS.

Edit: Ill try it myself and see if the CPU goes any lower , i think it should. I mostly had some OC on the CPU so i havent used it for some time.

Edit2: I enabled Global C-States in BIOS (but i have PBO and AutoOC enabled) and now the CPU goes down to 2880Mhz and 0.2v per core with balanced power plan. (core 7 doesnt want to go low )

OK let me know. I don't see the point of the cpu staying at 3800 for web browsing or listening to music lol.. I know it is going to 3800 bc I can hear my fans.. When cpu is at idle or at lower speed fans are almost silent with the curve i have...

Just edited my post , Core7 (aka 8 if you start with 1) doesnt want to go lower than 0.8v for some reason (check the pic), 25W - 30W during web surfing but as i said i have CO -20 to -25 PBO and AutoOC enabled (5700x boosting to 4850mhz), maybe it goes lower without PBO and AutoOC.

What does putting curve opt to beg 20 or 25 do? I've tried 15 but my cpu crashes in death loop

Maybe you have a bad core , you have to test each core , i was lucky enough that all my cores could do -20 and ive started from there, you can use PBO2 Tuner and tweak each core , maybe some can do -30 some can do only -10 (or 0 , i dont know).

EDIT: Some of my cores probably can do -30 (i tested some -28 and they were fine ) but -26 on most of the cores is enough for me , it was time wasting to tweak each of them by 1 for the gains i could get by doing that.
The core 0 with -20 is pretty slow in CPU-Z (i think CPU-Z is using only the first core to test single thread) but in CB the score is great , everything is stable and i see all the cores are boosting to 4850 , i am not sure why my first core doesnt get good score in CPU-Z , probably the thermals , it gets too hot with -20 @ 4850mhz and it throttles down.

Edit2: With this settings im getting 6800 points Multi and 655 single in CPU-Z , setting core 0 to -30 im getting 6850 / 662-664 without crashing during the CPU-z Bench but if im testing for stability it gives an error.
With -30 the C0 is boosting to 4850 and with -20 is boosting to 4800 when testing it in single core CPU-Z , that lets me thinking that is thermal throttling anyway at -30 its not stable in stress testing.
When ill have the mood ill try to set a higher LLC (its on Auto now) , maybe i can make it stable. (you can try changing the LLC too and see if that helps)

Edit3: After letting my computer idle some more with C-states enabled i see that the CPU downclocks even lower, check the pic. ( i think thats what u wanted? )

Yup I had a static all core OC of 4750Mhz a static all core of 4800 got me to 16495 but it was 100c so that was going to be a nope for 24/7
