Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
well let me reform my post ... so you can understand what i really point ... and sorry i didn't notice your link ... i tend to fail to see camouflaged links ;) (but you have good reference  )

in real test after 1 week of regular use i notice ~5° between MX-4 and Hydronaut (hydronaut not kryonaut or aeronaut)

furthermore, you pit the wrong past against ... you list the price of the Kryonaut versus MX-4 but the real contender for the MX-4 is the Aeronaut which is cheaper if you take a 7.8g syringe and on the opposite of that test chart, it's not under the MX-4 it's +/- 0° ~ (with some variation like 0.01) after 1 week

so yes the Hydronaut Kryonaut and Conductonaut are more expensive and have only, in short test, -1.1°~ but they are still top of the chart and totally worth it on the long run, on the other hand the Aeronaut is on the same level (aka middle of the chart and on the long run) and cost a little less ;)

(i am Swiss ... Arctic Cooling MX-4 was my favorite for a long time and MX-2 before that... then got replaced the Gelid GC-Extreme and then by Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut, i bought the 3 other of the brand later on, when my etailer finally restocked them, for testing purpose )

to not pollute the thread i stop at that ;)
)
Let me reiterate my point... I don't trust your testing...particularly when ALL other tests, which were done EMPIRCALLY, show the difference is between 1-2C. If you think its worth the price difference, that is up to you and whoever is making the purchase. I prefer to save that $6 and buy a 6 pack of beer and have my system a negligible 1C warmer. To each their own.

With that, I also digress. :)

+1, every test has shown the difference to be between 1-3c, when in doubt mayonnaise FTW!

i dont trust those charts... i rather to try the pastes myself.. sometimes you see a difference of 1or max 3C on products like AS5 AC-MX4/2 and prolimatek, liquid metals also vary according the site or chart publisher... so the mainstrean options are always
Arctic Cooling, Arctic Silver, Gelid and prolimatek, Coollaboratory liquid metals are also on 1st places, cannot forget about the new option, Thermal Grizzly, so grab one of these TIM's and be happy with the loop you chose,

i mounted a LGA1150 on a 6600k , i didnt OC it, but it ran at sub 34C during its time with that stock intel cooler, i wouldnt worry too much about cooling an i7, Any decent cooler will likely do just fine. I use an H70 corsair, and it held my 2500k, and my 4690k just fine...the i7 wont be much, if any different.

off that list above of TIM, i use Phobyia He Grease, and that shit is really nice to apply, and gives great temps...but again, the difference between the worst, and the best is marginal @ best , just like with after market good quality , like performing coolers.

Ran 34C at what idle? Under load they are easily into the 70-80C range for the stock box cooler.

no, it ran through SOME of windows driver set up just fine. no where near 80C. admittedly ( i wasnt run Prime or anything) i didnt check it as often as i would with my own build, but it didnt get Worryingly hot @ any time. but i see no reason to worry about cooling an i7 , more than any other

ugh! these damn server errors are killing me.

I build and test these pretty much daily i7+box cooler under load hits into the 70-80C range on every single one of them, running next to nothing and seeing 34C idle helps literally none in this thread.

im sorry you feel my post helps none here in this thread, but the temps while running the stock cooler weren'
t really what i was getting @...what I WAS getting @ was that since they WEREN'T worryingly high temps, I wouldnt worry about the i7 being a nuclear reactor. to put it another way

Depends what you are doing and what specific i7 you talk about. The 6700K runs quite hot on a stock box cooler and runs reasonably warm even on water. Hell break into the 5820/5930/5960 and the put out gobs of heat...

This is true that however does not mean I have not seen them with an OEM intel cooler sitting on top of them.

Benchmark Scores well I've fried a 775' P4 12 years ago, that counts?
so did my 6600K indeed

Yes sir!

as long as you don't use chocolate or ... worse Arctic Silver 5 wait ... forget the last part of my sentence  (tho subliminal message"Thermal Grizzly is the top of the top now )
subliminal mesaages!

This is true that however does not mean I have not seen them with an OEM intel cooler sitting on top of them.
not supossed to be the stock cooler for tht unit... or as intel claims..."Conflict free"

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
oh well don't trust my unreliable "long term test" and rely on short one (basically a review duration) then ;)
With respect, I won't.

I choose to hold empircal testing 'closer to the truth' over mount/apply once and report back. If one knows what they are doing, getting proper TIM applications AND heatsink mounts are where your big temperature differences come in. Besides, half the pastes don't require a cure time in the first place so results over time really do not matter... specifically in this context with MX-4 and grizz products do not have a cure time.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o

it was not a 1 time mount ... it was a 1 week testing per application and i kept the better one

i take real situation over review anytime, tho review are a good base to start with. (reading the middle part denote me as a novice that has no idea at all on how to test/apply/mount heatsink) and some TIM need curing and get better overtime (i.e: what Arctic Silver say about their own ) tho most of the good one : GC-Extreme, TG line, Arctic Cooling have none indeed, but it did goes better after 1 week

With respect, I won't..
tho i fail to comprehend that sentence ... since you are giving me right (i'm reading it as you negate my initial negation which say : rely on review and not on my test ... now i need an aspirin )

last but not least ... closer to the truth is more real situation result than review result

and the OP ask about the Cryorigs one ... so let's keep it at that

specifically the CP7 the only review i've found is http://elchapuzasinformatico.com/2015/08/review-cryorig-cp5-cp7-cp15/

You said, "oh well, don't trust my unreliable long term test"... I said, With respect, I wont (trust your unreliable long term test).

last but not least ... closer to the truth is more real situation result than review result
Most reviews use CPUs to test with... including the one I linked. It doesn't get more real than the same thing you are doing. ;)

Bottom line is that there is 1-2/1-3C difference between most thermal pastes, and a bit over 1C for the MX4 and Grizz stuff that was mentioned. Its in reviews, multiple reviews. I'm going with that kind of empircal testing rather than some random dude over the internet.

Anyway, please PM me if you want to continue this...........whatever this is. I feel we have went off topic enough in this thread.

Sorry OP. :)
