Really strange.

only around 200 points gain in Vantage and 2fps gain in crysis.

Better than nothing, right?
I re-compared my results and my benifits weren't as great as i originally thought. I must have had a bad driver install before.
But i managed to get at least an extra 300 3dmarks in vantage and 4fps in crysis warhead.

Remember the % gains listed on the official release notes were 'up to x%' not guaranteed x% improvement.

The improvements noticed maybe down more to your system as a whole rather than just the graphics card (ie the performances gains noticed by AMD were based on a certain setup whereas yours may differ).

Crysis runs like crap for me too. But then again it did before. Everything else ran perfect 60+fps before and runs the same with 8.12.

Drivers improvements most of the times are isolated to a combination of resolution with AA or just resolution or AA.
Last Nvidia driver that promised improvement got a lot of tech websites curios about performance and they found no performance improvement , then Nvidia called them and let them know what resolution and AA to have or to test it in SLI in some reolsution , then they found that increase they talked about , really strange because sometimes they serve it really simple like crysis gets 10% improvement on alll xxx cards and you test it and find nothing , in my opinion it's called lying by omission , there is some improvement and you can't actually say they lie but they certainly decieve you into thinking you got a rocket in your computer but the improvement might not be practical if it's made at 1980x1200.
For me wich i keep a pretty clean computer from spyware and programs that slow my computer , drivers rarely improved my performance , they fix problems but rarely increase perf. , mostly game patches solves my perf. problem. if there is one.

From what I have been noticing mostly in new driver updates are game related. Very rarely do updates do much for synthetic benches since that isn't the reason cards are made.

well... maybe for ati. Nvidia's driver department are benchmark whores :laugh:

my SLI score in vantage went from P17100 GPU to P19200 GPU over the course of 2 driver updates - my crysis stayed the same.

For me I got a 8 fps gain on crysis and all other games got no increase. Maybe it depends on ur other specs too because the benchmarks were done on a different system then urs.

you ran one in the P preset and one in the E preset... E is the "please dont hurt my system" preset... run it on "performance" and see.
