8800GT owners: have you any problem with your card?

Hello everybody.

I have in mind to buy a Club3d 8800GT in 2 weeks, when they arrive to my wholesaler here in Spain.
The thing is that I am reading posts of people having issues with their 8800GT cards... Here is an image of crysys beta. Maybe they are due to temperature....

Have you any problem with your cards? Are you happy with your buy?

Mines coming In today so I'll let ya know If I have any Issues....but I Intend to slap my HR-03 on It from my X1950XTX so temps shouldn't be an Issue for me.....but ya.....that artifacting looks temp related.......or driver related...the latest 169.04 driver Is supposed to work with the 8800GT....fan control and Overclock with the latest RivaTuner 2.06.

Hope It helps....and like I said...I'll let ya know If I have any Issues with Crysys.

From what I´ve read about temp changes when using a custom cooler, I wonder if any heat issues might become relevant.

Examples:
stock before: idle 70°C | load 91°C
Accelero S1: idle 40°C | load 48°C
Zalman VF900: idle 39°C | load 57°C

Somehow I do not fully trust that closed-box one-slot design...

Aye the card looks real slick, but I wonder if the temperature issue(s) is more due to the stock cooler or the card itself..

I run the fan at 100% using rivatuner and I never go over 65*C. If you let the stock fan speeds go, you WILL see 80*C or more.

What does the stock fan sound like @ 100%?
Is it nice to the ears?

I came from a 2900XT...... It's quiet to me, but to others, it would be a bit loud.

I thought it was a 2900pro.

Im sure it is somewhat loud, surely not as loud as the 2900 at 100 percent.

The 2900 at 100% sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

It seems that que heatsink/fan is not quite efficient. I've read too of people with their 8800Gt's over 80 ºC... Well that issue can be fixed with a 3rd party cooler.

Please, {JNT}Raptor: could you post your temps with the stock cooler and with the hr-03?

Well, if there is no other issue than the temp (in some cases) i'll be waiting to the -club3D to arrive here...

Never ran It with the stock cooler....as soon as It got here I stripped It off and put On my HR-03 and took off........but going by my temps won't do you any good....I'm In a very cool dry finished basement and my temps...are pretty chilly...at Idle I get 33c.....and NO higher than 44c Under full load......I've got a 92mm fan on top drawing air through It Instead of blowing through It....works well...to say the least.

Best I can get stable so far Is 721Mhz core....1850Mhz shader and 1050Mhz memory....this card Is Sooooooooo held back by my 3ghz AMD Dual core......thats next though.

I mounted the heatsink In the wraparound mode....the best way IMHO with a 92mm fan On top of the Heatsink blowing UP...drawing air through the heatsink.

Hope that clears It up.

Your temps are very good. I will need to change the cooler, because here in Spain, summer can be warm.... :ohwell:
