Yes.

7900GTX SLI isn't as fast in new games as a single 8800GT (9800GT is the same thing apart from 3-way SLI)

Yup. I had 2 X 7900GT's voltmodded to 7900GTX speeds and running SLI. They couldn't touch my single 8800GT. The 9800GT is just an 8800GT.

Always a point if you want to SLI them

Maybe save up some more money and get a cheap Intel mobo and a better CPU to get the best out of your new card...ORRRRRRRRRRRR...clock the thing up you already have til it cant take it no more...it always works wonders

Well 2 X 9800GT in SLI will give you close to or better than GTX280 which is $450. But it depends on what resolution you game at and what games you play. If you want to do 1900X1200 in Crysis then 2 X 9800GT would serve you well

. Little better speed, and keeps me from being tempted to try to snag two of the Canucks' cards I'll keep an alert on that one from the Egg, and maybe snag a second next spring.

That card is a 8800GTS G92 core and not the 8800GT is why

Good card but the 280GTX isn't much more (when on offer it was as low as $179.99 if i remember right, its now around $200~) and the 9800GTX is below $200 now also....given the choice of a 9800GTX or the 8800GTS I'd take the GTX all day long as it usually clocks higher, even if it does cost a few more $'s
