Just wondering if anyone has successfully added an external eSATA hard drive to their Comcast DVR?

According to Comcast it is possible, but the only hard drive they officially support is the WD MyBook AV Comcast, which Comcast sells for $125, but they say other drives may or may not work. That is a bit much for a 1TB drive.

Just wondering if anyone has tried to add an eSATA drive and the results. Thanks.

I remember asking one guy about the USB port or eSATA on mine once a while back, he mentioned that they're enabled or disabled by region or having to pay an extra monthly service fee, I don't remember exactly, but wouldn't be surprised by it.

EDIT: And when I tried doing something myself with one, nothing happened, so not sure whats what with them.
