AMD 790GX, an Early Performance Evaluation

so the manufactueres couldnt round up the number, sheesh

Wait, why are all phenom boards 5 phase? O_o

they arnt some are 4 or 3 but they can't handle the 125w phenoms and alot of folks blew there boards up because of it

how could that be...?

run crysis on 1024? is it possible to run this bastard great engine?it must be in medium quality, i think. i,ve tried to run this game in 8200, its to bad to play, with 800-600 and low quality (5000+ BE at 3,2 G - 532 A data exreme 800)

bet this uses a 3650 for the integrated

Well my board is supposed to support the 9950 cpu, but after hearing some things about blown up boards, it makes me wonder.

These are the new blend of 790FX and integrated Graphics processors. looks like I may skip the MSI 790FX board and grab one of these puppies in the full atx flavor.

the MSI 790FX supports the 9950 jsut fine hell my 9500 is using 158w right now without issue

that top board does look like it'd make one crazy lanning case :D
i like where the sata is placed, only thing thatd make me like that mobo even more is if it had solid caps on it, hell, thatd make one great mediacenter front end, with 2x pci-e it would handle 1080p HD no worries.
i want one now, lol, & a phenom b3< stepping
:rockout:
That first board is probably a DFI Blood Iron 780G-M2R. The Lanparty JR (mATX) 790GX-M2RS will have the solid caps and usual Lanparty colour scheme of its big brother pictured beneath, the DK 790GX-M2RS. A Phenom HTPC sounds like overkill but it would bring out best from the 790GX's integrated 3470 core.

The x8/x8 limitation is annoyingly unavoidable but I'll live with it if they ditch the solitary PCI slot for another PCIe 1x on the final board.

bare minimum for 140W CPU compatibility. For 140W CPU + OC you need more phases.

Asus already supports 140 watt CPUs, 790/780/770.
