AMD HD 6000 series caused BSOD when installing driver, Windows 10

My Dell Vostro 3450, quite old, yet I have installed Windows 10 on it. So far I don't have any problem with GPU. But lately, it caused BSOD (atikmpag.sys) whenever I tried to install driver. I tried the solution by replacing atimpag.sys file, but not working. When I use GPU-Z to look at my graphic card, there is something wrong with it. Bios version unknown, memory size, type is unknown.... I have attached the screenshot of GPU-Z.

Is it broken? or if it is not, how can i fix it? Any possible solution? I have tried many, but maybe there is still some other solutions i haven't try.

My Dell Vostro 3450:
Intel 2nd corei5
AMD Radeon 6600M and 6700M series

Really appreciate for any possible solution.

Without the driver you will get weird readings in gpuz. I am assuming this card worked fine in 7?

So you are suggesting me to try installing windows 7?
I also thought about installing windows 7 on another partition to test this as well.

If the driver crashes in 7 as well the gpu is bad if it works fine the driver is bad. Basic troubleshooting step.

Just to get things straight, your laptop was fine on Windows 7 and is fine after upgrading to Windows 10 as well.
The only problem (the BSOD) occurs when trying to install a newer driver?

If it only happens when trying to install the latest driver then stick to what works (aka what you had and do not upgrade).
If you dont have a driver installed and thus are running generic Windows drivers, I would recommend trying a program called DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)

Its very good and removing everything related to your current gpu, leaving your pc clean and ready to receive the latest driver which in your case is this one:

Catalyst or Crimson, won't work. I try to uninstall using this tool in safe mode, and try to install it back, not working.

Here is what happen when i tried to install those driver:
first, it started to install display driver
then screen went blank (said it is normal), but then it went completely blank, no light, and a few minutes later, BSOD pop up (atikmpag.sys).

I have been trying to fix this for around 2 months already. But nothing work.

Currently, I use the latest Crimson driver which does not support my graphic card, but it manage to make the display better, so have to use it. But i dont want that, it heats up my computer so much. That is why i want to fix this and get back the driver that works for me.

The driver that works best for me is Crimson edition 16.2.1 with display driver: 15.301.1901.0. This driver worked before, but now not anymore.

Sorry, yeah hard to find a replacement card and to get it working.
Yeah , I guess it's time to retire that laptop then.

Try the last driver that supports the 6k series, i had the same issue when i was testing my 6970 before i sold it.

to use the New Crimson i had to use a old driver 1st as it don't come with drivers for the card.

The old driver doesn't even work. Even very old one won't work. I try many times.

Back up all your stuff and do a fresh install of the OS and see if it installs a driver for you.
