Sadly, I have an expensive ultrawide G-Sync monitor. So..it's going to be RTX 3080 when back in stock
Sadly, I have one too. But for me it's going to be "keeping my 1080 Ti till next gen". If the 6800XT actually performs good I may be tempted to also sell the monitor and grab one to game on TV... Who knows...
I'm super excited about the review anyway!

Don't want to be that guy but they look awfully similar to Turing reference designs. And their aesthetic doesn't integrate well into built systems with the colours
So they look like Turing that sold well but somehow don't suit pc interiors, ok err yeah just ok, rigggghht.

NO. Just no. First off, four ports is enough for >99.999% of users (and the majority of those wanting more would want more HDMI, not DP). Second, more ports would mean no option for a single-slot bracket for water cooling, which would be a crying shame. Four outputs is plenty, and the selection on offer here seems very well done.

I get that most people use a single displays but this is an enthusiast product that should have enthusiast multi-monitor support.

As DP has supported 4K60 since version 1.2 from 2013 there are lots of great monitors in the market that make use of DP. It would make sense to support 3x DP.

broooo i had 240 hz ass GSync too that i bought in july wtf, im planning to upgrade but im going to stick with my gtx1080 for lot more time i guess

The 3000 series are not great at 1080p gaming, you might want to wait for higher clocked cards next year, or Radeon.

The 2.5-slot vs 2-slot cooler is going to make a pretty substantial difference IMO.

Once you take the shroud, surround, and RADEON logo into consideration, the XT probably has twice the breathing room of the vanilla 6800 :|

That is why I will be looking at the Asus ROG Strix LC RX 6800 XT Gaming OC model. Comes with a built in AIO so I don't need to buy one separate. I will side mount it in my case with a PCIe 4.0 riser cable.

I have other stuff I don't want to move around to accommodate 2.5 slot space.

As DP has supported 4K60 since version 1.2 from 2013 there are lots of great monitors in the market that make use of DP. It would make sense to support 3x DP.
As I said above, get a $15 usb-C-to-DP adapter and you've got your third DP 1.4 output. It has all the required outputs, please stop complaining. This is a non-issue.

Both the Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 have a solid product design that uses the same silvery metal bits as the NVIDIA Founders Edition cards prior to Ampere, except that these are more curvy, and the glossy red accent along the top lends it that characteristic "Fisher Price" look which has been defining AMD reference cards for over a decade.
Seriously, @W1zzard? I mean, I get that taste is subjective, but would you ever say that an Nvidia reference design was reminiscent of a kids' toy? If the comparison was even remotely close I would be far less harsh here, but are you actually saying that this

reminds you of this

?

I mean, it's okay to not like the design, and I understand hyperbole, but this is just silly, and all you're achieving is coming off as biased, regardless of whether you are or not. "They did the same as Nvidia, only theirs looks like a toy" is about as one-sided as you can get.

Why would you think I don't like the design? Looks great, and looks "Radeon". I just tried to describe the looks?

Likewise, my monitor was AU$1400. Don't think for one second it will stop me buying an AMD card if they prove to be good.

And it's not like you have a drum to beat with AMD, not like you have mentioned them negatively in about 50% of your posts :toast:

Really? If so, I am sorely disappointed in the your apparent lack of relevant comparisons. I gave a clear example of what a Fisher-Price toy looks like in my post above, so the question still stands: do you think those two things look even remotely similar?

Regardless what your intent was, this comes off as a derisive comment on your part. Comparing the design to a toy, especially when said comparison is... well, IMO completely unfounded, is in itself derogatory. And again, have you ever conpared an Nvidia card to a toy, or even anything similarly silly and/or childish?

I mean, I don't think this is the best design ever by any means, but talking about it like that only serves to make your journalism look bad.

Indeed, these will vanish quicker than Fisher Price toys on Christmas eve.

It's entirely possible that the games you play feature in game FPS caps as well. If so you can always just enable those instead. Configured correctly they will get rid of tearing just the same without any latency penalty. TBH though if you are looking for the lowest input lag possible you shouldn't be using any adaptive sync tech nor frame-caps.

Probably because the flashy red line looks plastic-like and the giant “R” logos on the fans make it look “louder” compared to their previous cards. The reference RX 5700 XT looked more professional compared to the RTX 2000 series, albeit I did like the mirror-finish on the front side.
