Regarding 3G vs 4G speeds, I was seeing horrific U/D speeds with the 3G DroidX and it just kept going downhill. Bought a 4G Razr Maxx HDD and it screams.

Long and short, I think you are right about the 4G optimization. I had even called Verizon about the DroidX to see if I had exceeded some data cap but that supposedly wasn't the case.

You got balls to do a comparison considering how polarizing the two platforms are. My pet peeve is iTunes and the whole lack of control with Apple in general. Plus I'm not a sheep.

I've noticed that my coverage has improved since getting a 4G phone. When I was on 3G with my iPhone 3GS, if I walked into a store in the next town over I'd lose service. Now it either stays at HSDPA+ or falls back to 3G. I'm amazed.

at a guess there, its because the 3gs was so old. 3g tech would have improved a bunch over the years.

Yeah, even my brother's iPhone 4 had waaayyyyyy better reception than my 3GS.
