Anyone else getting freaky issues with Nvidia lately?

I've actually seen this on my Titan X. Infrequently but I have seen it.

Pretty sure Maxwell Titan X has a minor hardware bug, imho. I had 2 of them, same intermittent problem. Dumped it as soon as Pascal was available. No problems with previous Kepler or Pascal so far, only Maxwell. Oh, and the 960 silicon revision was fixed, it seems.

Possible, but I only began to notice it on the latest driver. Either way, doesn't bother me badly at all, so...

It now appears that it may be a recent update on Windows 10 that has caused this issue. Initially rolling back my driver I didn't see the same behaviour but then it happened on a couple of games yesterday. I stress again that it's not a PSU issue. GPU clocks remain at full, it's not a CTD either as the game is still running as If I have Alt Tabbed out of it and once I go back into the game (whilst it's still running) it doesn't do it again.

Also, has anyone else had a black screen on exit of certain games after the Windows 10 Anniversary update? Child Of Light is a definite title where I have that issue, if you have that game in your collection......report back. I have to CTRL ALT DEL, down down enter (whilst it's a black screen) which then signs me out and brings up the login screen,I can then sign straight back in.

my Rig has been F'ed up lately. Win 10, anniversary crapdate, GTX970, Xeon CPU. dunno, just aking funky similar to what was posted in OP, but not deal breaking, just annoying.

i cant say what it is, but I CAN say that the Stupid M$ team removed H264, or some video codec support in that Anniversary update, and it screwed with webcams for a LOT of people....im no driver master, but it seems oddly possible that it may be tied into the issue with Video, and Video card related issues.

Very interesting! So it's not TDR after all.

hi to everyone i just have some funky issue with the galaxy gtx 660 2gb based on this link http://www.galaxytech.com/__EN_GB__...isStop=0&isPack=False&isPow=False&isSSD=False. Right the issue is when i run it in full load wiith furmark or uniengine valley it freezes after 10 to 40 minutes. I have already did the downclock and overclock on the gpu. same issue. And yes it already have fresh mx-4 thermal paste. So i discovered by reading the software between nvidia inspector and msi afterburner the power level was off the the chart by over 700% where it suppose to be around 100%. So i contacted Galaxy Tech about the graphic card issue they just told me to lessen the graphic details to low. It still crashes to black screen and locking up the system. Then i had the idea to do something about the graphic card bios which is galaxy own bios was beyond the joke. And i went hunting on the net and found a bios as close as possible to the original nvidia 660 gtx 2gb. So i decided to flash the not modified bios as i keeping the stock speed at 980mhz at the core clock. So to rule out everything from drivers to updates and patches on the windows 10. The MAIN CAUSE was the gpu bios causes all sort of issues from crashing drivers to black screening and locking up the system. To know what the graphic card is doing focus on the power level and and usage if any of them looks out of shape that means the bios is messed up with the core clock as my graphic card was thinking let stay at 324mhz for gaming. i rebooted countless times to get it to 980mhz

So i hope this would be some what helpful for the ones who has this issue

Well I hate nvidia, over-priced products... but what to do when AMD right now is suking in GPU area (weaker). Gladly I dont have problems with Gainward Phoenix 1070, playing Arma 3, CS:GO, WoW, GTA V. And first thing when I changed from AMD to Nvidia i saw that when I'm maximizing games when they were minimized it takes like 3-5sec... With AMD it was 1 sec...

Also to mention as nearly forgot i have reinstalled the os 4 times in the last 6 months still the same issue drove me mentel for it. So i have it fixed now no issue with project cars as before it used to crash and freezes everytime i start a race and i get an issue with unhandled and vertex issue so now i am playing project cars without issue. So my SOLUTION is to fix the bios for the graphic card. My used to be Galaxy Tech 660 GTX 2GB is now debranded to standard nvidia 660 gtx 2gb and i dont get the annoying graphic card bios screen before the motherboard bios so it alot faster now

hmm 372.90 drivers made every application that uses 3D crash.... had to roll back to 372.70
gtx 970 ftw+ card

i had the same issue from 334.89 all the way to 372.90 on windows 7 64 bits and windows 10 64 bits 1607 version till tonight i fixed the issue with the graphic card bios. now im running with 373.90 with standard settings both of dirt rally and project cars run without freezing and black screen.

This is the reading im getting on my gpu

Granted, the only game I've been playing as of late has been God Eater 2.

ohhh exactly like me, same game, no issues: conclusion, everything else is an issue, GE2RB is the solution, GE2RB is love GE2RB is life!

short version ... errr nope ... i have no issues with my card. (got some crash on Unigine with the starting 10XX drivers tho ... but 1. driver's fault 2. Afterburner's fault ... needed Beta to have Voltage control 3. too optimistic OC because of other user reporting highest boost clock as clocking whereas other NORMAL user would report core clock "my card clock to 2XXX Mhz" and i was like "WTF mine only does 1700mhz max before crashing" and tried to breach 2k on regular core clock  , because if your card is at 1700 and sustain 2088-2100 in boost your clock IS 1700 and not max boost clock  )

still on 372.70 since i saw some reporting that the latest were wonky... :p

nonetheless i have a 1070 ... (since my 980 is dead and i don't have my Alpha anymore i can't test issues on maxwell chips )

edit ... i noticed that my "short" version is longer than my "initial" version ... :banghead:

but compare the pictures i have uploaded and it the proof in the pudding due to bios problems and it not the over or underclocking the card will help it at all as the bios was screwed over badly. Look at the messed up bios chart see how many times it shot up and down in less than 30 seconds compare to the fixed bios chart it nearly smooth across the range.

i hereby solved a wide range of people having the same issue

and if you open the two pictures by either viewing 2 tabs on the brower or downloading the pictures and compare it
you see my point

and you quadposted in a time frame of 22minutes ... just in case there is an "edit" function bottom left of your last post ...

and "UH?" what are you talking about ... i know i am not a native English speaker/writer but ... it's unreadable ... (and i mean all the five post you made )

im only new to this forum so im sorry if i didnt see the edit button

Problem is not fixed.

I have flashed new bios's to my 670, tried two driver revisions.. the drivers never crash the games just go blank then go to desktop.. the fuck is this shit?
Then i go back to the game with clocks running at normal.

I literally cannot play anything right now and i'm very pissed off with Windows, Nvidia and that POS named NFS most wanted as that game has an issue where it just freezes for no reason whilst the audio plays on fine.. that's game related so right now i dare not play anything as nothing fucking works.

Played 20 minutes of The Crew about 20 mins a go, game was fine card was at 75c running it's base clocks.

No error's nothing the game freezes then goes back to desktop.

I try loading the game and every time it loads up the game crashes back to desktop, no warnings nothing.

Worst crap i have ever seen in a long time.

Oh and.

Took my head out of my ass and will attempt to use DDU on these drivers, restart then install latest and see where we go from there.

Well chap i done the flash on my used to be galaxy tech gtx 660 2gb. As how i was able to track down a working bios is based on revison model and other details to match the old bios is through the bios collection on this site. And what brand of graphic card do you have. As i done pretty the same with ddu as it still had no affect on my pc as always crashing to a black screen and driver crash and recovered till a few hours ago it works as it should with standard clocks even with boost no hiccups.

And another thing is i dont need the tdr delay and tdr level as it not found in the regedit. I think it causes issues somewhat.

Make sure you dumped the bios through gpuz as a back up otherwise you need another graphic card to reflash the corrupted one. I been down that road before

EVGA SC, i downloaded the bios from this site, so far it's running fine though i have not gamed on it since installing diver revision 372.90 from a fresh DDU uninstall, i also removed the Nvidia audio driver as i have Realtek audio, and i chose a fresh clean install in advanced as mentioned around the web.

If i can't do anything after this i will be hunting for a new card and will have to hold off serious gaming :(

The nvidia sound driver has nothing to do with your sound chip, it's for the built in gpu sound device that goes over hdmi. No driver = no sound over hdmi.

People have mentioned it as a causing problem so i removed it since i don't need it anyhow.

I have all of the features on except the hdmi audio i just disable it in nvidia control panel same goes for the playback option just mainly disable anything with nvidia audio including device management as in windows 10 1607 version has 2 hidden in the top part of that list and other one somewhere on the bottom part. Just too tired to find it to be honest. And another thing is find out about windows tweaking for gaming it kinda gave me a boost in performance by reducing bloatware by windows 10. As im gaming on asus p5q premium modded to take 771 to 775 running with intel xeon e5450 e0 clocked at 4ghz along with mushkin 996599es 4 x 2gb (super rare to find ones with date between 3 weeks of eachother). The feeling of an old machine keeping up with modern games surprises me. Btw im 29 years chap with a permanent condition called Usher Syndromes as i have type two so take it easy on me. I know everyone gonna say it old, outdated, rubbish and so fort. Well let me explain if a pc dated 5 to 10 years old it still have a purpose to live on simple tasks like emails, word processing and etc. I build my own pc with enough knowledge by reading and sorting the right parts with my own money as that will do me for the next 5 years or more
