This is irritating me, since I usually run games that I can't run at full screen resolution with centered timings, however, 11.12 (Win 7 x64 Pro) doesn't seem to want to allow me those choices...I may roll back to 11.11

its been broken in win 7 since launch, the fix is to lower the resolution temporarily to something like 1024x768, change the setting, then change back to native res.

i asked about this on the AMD forums a while back and got banned for it because 'its working as intended'

Wow they banned you for asking a legitimate question? That's just the wrong way to be.

i replied to their head admin with 'well no its obviously broken, or i'd be able to select it' so i was banned for arguing with an admin.

There can be some childish people out there. You point out a problem and from what it seems they want to hide it. Wow and I have always, I mean always used amd/Ati products. That makes me want to take a second look on my next vid card purchase which is going to be very soon. I mean if they want to treat there customers like that. I may just switch over to the dark side. Hell I am planning a new system build so I may go Intel and Nvidia on this one.

i thought that for a while, but he's just their forum admin. he's not part of their driver support team or anything that actually MATTERS - i mean hell, if companies tech forums were good, we wouldnt need TPU now would we?

Thats stupid as all fuck. It literally pisses me off to such a degree I want to beat the piss out of people who do that sort of thing. I mean really, why the fuck ban someone for asking a question.

Not as bad as a turd mod on the sapphire forum called Greenghecko.

If that shit happened to me, id make another account on a different computer bitching about it as hard as I could, then contact every manufacturer for that company telling them how id never buy their product again because of me asking a legitimate question and getting banned for it.

Woudlnt do too much good i know, but a sale lost is a sale lost.

You can argue all you want but even being the 1000th person that complained about 1/50 features not working is a drop in the profit bucket compared to the 500,000 people with 49/50 features working who just use it out of the box. So sad but true. I had a problem with ATI and xfire on some 1950 cards on a particular motherboard/cpu combination. They made me buy "certified memory" and a "certified psu" and RMA both cards. I was trying to work with them to track down the problem (telling them what it was) but once a handfull of solutions were tested, they ceased comunications with me.

There alot of hardware released in a premature state just to "get 'er done". Think about how many motherboards have bios revisions to fix issues that never should have been there in the first place. By the time they release a 100% stable bios (as if) a newer board/platform is released. Around and around we go. I know technology could be so much better then it is. It's not profitable to get it right the first time.
