anyone know can look at the specs of the psu?

I tried both in 2 pc and they wouldnt turn on. I used it with a psu tester and it showed its ok. not sure what to think.
Hmmm if showed alright with a PSU tester but won't turn on when used in a PC it sounds more like a dead piece of hardware than a bad PSU

yea I dont know what to say but they were in storage. probably for 5 years or so. and im pissed cause it was said the corsair I got was good. but how the hel both are dead is beyond me. maybe humidity. I cant think of anything really. but more and more I have a big list of dont buy brands. its pretty big. newest brand on the list is lexar. I have an rma for an nvme 4 months old and an sata ssd thats 3 months old both having issues. it hangs on transfers. on 2 different pc. not sure what to think. I liked that brand for their sd cards I use in cameras to shoot weddings with.

Non use of anything with electrolytic capacitors can lead to them drying out no matter who's name is on the label just as overusing/overheating can cause the electrolyte to spooge out

While the shelf life of electrolytic capacitors is 2-3 years I expect unused capacitors to last a LOT longer.

bad news. not sold on amazon canada. anymore. they also do not state the current per rail.
IMO, first step, other than going to hwbusters.com to checking to review and quality rating, is to see if the 12 volt rail allows all the power on it.

Japanese caps yeah for sure but I'm betting they're not and are cheapo chinesium caps either that or corrosion

thanks. how to check this?

the label on the side of the psu… generally they show it in the gallery of photos…
(btw, the link you provided sends me the amazon.ca, not amazon.com as stated in the address... )

newegg.ca does, https://www.newegg.ca/sama-80-plus-750w-750-w/p/1HU-02S6-00027
and it does supply all power on 12v rail, but at 109 canadian…

so i am thinking this is too-good-price PSU for the price… looks like you need to spent 70 extra for a gold PSU...

looks like the price was too good, and US tariff’s took it off the market… (IMO).

so, just get anything 750 gold rated, and it is good for any GPU priced at PS5pro price level.
(if it is not rated bronze or higher then you have to worry…)
IMO.

they dont have the black in stock

Are we sure its the psu thats causing the problem....?

??? The one where you said your computer wasn't working.... is it now?
ah! was building a new pc. grabbed 2 psu from storage to use and both didnt work.

so replacement is needed and if im getting a replacement psu then might as well get something with more watts as I need a newer gpu like 3080.

cheers

This issue:

which is it?

this? they all look the same though. so grabbed one with decent reviews

So both supplies passed voltage testing?

the tester showed it working. 12v + but kept beeping and didnt understand what was happening. in other words I come to realize those testers are worthless. if both the psu dont start in 2 different pc and the testers shows 12v good, no good.

These testers only check voltage and not behavior under load.

The beeping is just because you did not plug in the connector for the 12V2

When you tried the supplies on a motherboard did you use BOTH connectors?

if you are going to diagnose the issue, I think we first need to know the following
1) OP needs to define not working?
2) what are the exact models of corsair & antec units
3) OP said they were in humid storage for five years. How long did he use them prior to that?
4) purchased from a licensed retailer or used?

even then we may not be of much help but there needs to be more info

all that said, I thought the OP bought a new PSU and everything is up and running?

Didn't realize he was up and running, then I can stop asking questions.

apologies I dont understand the question. I connected the 24pin, I connected the 8pin cpu, and 1x8 gpu. and nothing., the fan would spin though on both psu on both pc. but no power. I swapped between them. connected a POS old 550w psu and both woke up no issue.

Are you up and running on a new supply? If so, we can move on.

not working in that it didnt post. tried both no good. swapped to a POS old 550w psu and it started right up. same on 2 other pc

I dont know about the models. i just purchase models with 3 years and decent ratings and try to go for gold. I wasnt a fan of corsair before but now they and antec are on my no buy list. they are in landfill for 4 months now

I didnt say they were in humid storage. I said maybe its the humidity of storage., I dont think its any more humid then another regular storage and by storage I mean boxes in one of the rooms. no ac is ever turned on there.

yes purchased from a retail store. but past warranty.

its not relevant now really. I updated my post regarding the new sama psu, which seems to play nice with rx590. for now. will update to higher end with high tdp like 3070 3080 but the old psu are not important since ive tossed them.
