Anyone who's had the 7850 for a while, little help.

Hey guys so I'm just about to buy my new GPU, I've got a all the other parts (8gb g.skill ram, i5 2500k, 80gb ssd, 720rpm 1tb hdd, Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3, etc)
And for a while now I've had my heart set on getting a 570/560ti448 (just whatever was cheaper at the time)
I never really looked too much into AMD since I heard their processors were a flop I didn't give any thought, but when looking up the 570s benchmarks I would sometimes see the 7850 beating it or very close to it depending on the game.
Now I've heard some pretty bad things about AMD Drivers, and was wondering if anyone out there has had the 7850 and can tell me if there's any problems or minor hick-ups as it were to the card:)

These are the 2 cards I have in mind as of right now.

I will be running on a 1080p 27" monitor.
oh and if it helps I've got a coolermaster 922 :)

Ill be playing games like skyrim, BF3, Metro, stalker etc :) Also a few like total war and diablo 3 type games but they're usually not too harsh on the system.

Cheers! :)

I've had the HD7850 now almost since it's launch and I'm very satisfied.

My previous card was an HD4670 so I don't have such great base of reference to other more current mid-range cards.. but what I can tell you for certain is that Skyrim, BF3, Crysis1/2, Arkham City, and other titles run extremely well.
(Worth mentioning i am running on a 19 inch screen with 1280x1024 as my native)

As far as I know it's the best bang for buck card out there and the 2GB's of RAM it comes with makes it much more preferable than the Nvidia card you mentioned.
Also worth noting is the low temperatures, 30-33C idle, 58-62C load.

The AMD drivers are kind of annoying but you just find a set which are good (12.3 for now) and stick with them until the new ones come out, performance has never varied greatly between drivers for what I know.

That's about it, I know i'll be able to rock upcoming titles such as Max Payne 3 and GTAV whenever they come out and the HD7850 will hold it's own just great.

Best way to find out which card really will benefit you best, look through the reviews that W1zz posts on here, and other sites. Look specifically at the games you play (and if they offer different results like W1zz for resolution, check that mostly) to see how the cards perform. If the 7850 out does the 570/560 Ti 448, then get that, but if the difference is negligible, go for which ever saves you the $. One thing to consider is that the 7850 is a third generation DX 11 card, (5xxx series was first) and the 570/560 are second generation (4xx series was first), so it might perform slightly better in DX 11 specific games. Driver wise, I've been on a 6870 for I don't know how long, and just cause, I always use the newest driver, even though it might not have any true benefits for my card. I've never test FPS with each driver to see if one is better than another but never really had any odd driver issues, on AMD/ATI or NVidia.
