Apple Working on Retina Display for Macbook Pro

This statement would be worth something if it was actually "crap". I thought for a time that the anti-Apple sentiment at places like TPU was akin to anti-console sentiment (which I surely share) but then I realized that the latter is actually acceptable because it's a subpar gaming experience. Whereas, at least to this day, the average Apple hater's feelings aren't really based at all on the merits and quality of the products themselves but on pre-conceived notions of things like price and a douchey, "more money than sense" user base (But nobody laughs at the purchase of a $750 GTX 580 "Classified"?).

Now there are the few like Mailman who have actually simply had a shitty experience with Macs due to hardware malfunctions and such but this is really not the usual case. And I think I can say that as I have supported them professionally along with PCs for almost 15 years. Apple products are so popular these days because they are good. Period. And doing cool stuff like the subject of this thread only strengthens that fact.

Macs aside, I just hate Apple for all the money they had me waste on their shitty iPods back in the days that I ended up throwing away after a year or so because they would stop working. Their earphones were worse than those I would find in a 99 cent store. And iTunes is one piece of garbage I will never use again.

I bought a Zune HD in 2009, and by no means I am a Microsoft fan (I hate them for other reasons too), but holy crap the Zune software >>>>>>>>>>> iTunes any day of the year. It's getting old now though, and it's sad that microsoft discontinued them.

I have the exact opposite opinion of you. I found the Zune software to be utterly garbage. To each their own I suppose tho.

And how long will that last without Jobs? I do wonder.

It was to happening when jobs was still with them in in 1984/5, he failed in NeXT Computer until it went software based.

He made a few good moves after , pixar being the best but the success of apple was jobs "seeing" something in Steve Wozniak (who he used) and Jonathan Ive.

I only really know of his successes I would love to find out how much he squandered in bad investments.

So you think it's completely normal for a grown up to just walk into a store he doesn't like and start taunting customers? And only a Macintosh fanboy would find this immature and retarded? Are you 13 years old? Do you think Jackass is cool?

To be honest, Apple is such a ridiculous company overall, that almost anyone willing to buy their products deserves to be ridiculed. And no, Jackass is lame, Dudesons own Jackass. ;)

Yes, I'd like to know too. Love him or hate him, he was pretty clever and a very shrewed businessman, but everyone makes blunders. However, due to his popularity and image, I'll bet those mistakes get airbrushed out of history...

Couldn't have said it better myself, if I had £100 and made 100 investments with 90 of those losing my money and 10 of those making me £100 each that would count as success.
When in reality I was only 10% right.

That's a great example. It helps explain why people can make one mistake after another in business and still come out on top.

Sounded like something a 13-yo would do.
Oh really? A guy walked out of the store having spent $3K on a Mac Pro and an iPad...
(Though this was priced before the Thai floods)
