is the intel top gpu they currently offer is Arc A770 ? hard to understand the numbering.

when should be the next release cycle? I saw 2 lower end cards being released. is there a direction for 3080-4080 competition models?

Intel uses a different kind of progression with their product names and releases. AXXX cards are previous generation Alchemist cards and fastest one released was A770.
New gen cards will be Battlemage, BXXX cards. B580 and B570 are annouched and B580 will be available at 13th December. However these are lower class cards of Battlemage cards so Intel is releasing lower class cards first. Even so Intel is claiming B580 is 24% faster on average than A750 so it should also be faster than A770 (A770 is 10-15% faster than A750).
There is no information about higher class cards (possibly B770 and B750) but they should also be on the way. I guess they are waiting for next gen AMD and Nvidia for them (imo good call).

3080 could be, 4080 is a very long shot. Intel's capacity is fairly limited, it'll be a miracle they don't unload a truck worth of crap in their trousers with the B500 series release.

I'd not expect anything that can consistently beat 3090 from Intel in the next couple of years.

I want to see someone fight against nvidia. RT/productivity as nvdia level. real bummer.

They are releasing mid range first it seems but:

They are following the alphabet hence there names

A, B, C etc for generation

models are broken up into 3 main tiers

3,5,7

Those tiers have sub tiers; though there releases are fragmented so it’s easier to simply follow the rule of “higher is better”. Those sub tiers historically are:

10,50,70,80

A310 (First gen, low tier, low sub tier)
B570 (second gen, mid tier, mid sub tier)
A770 (first gen, upper tier, mid sub tier)

The confusion generally comes from x80 cards having not been released with A series 7 tier cards.

maybe they can bring a b990 or in the higher tier.

will they have anything that competes with 4000 nvidia? I can wait since Im looking for a 3000 card now anyway. I jump 2 gens for a significantly noticeable bump

Correct me if I'm wrong but intel is claiming the B580 beats the RTX 4060 at the moment and the RX 7600; don't remember the exact numbers from their reveal. I don't necessarily believe it considering intel's track record with these sorts of things, which to be fair every company does it (misleading presentations, intel imo just does it the most)

The chances of the higher end cards beating something like the 4070? or 4070 TI? Not sure personally, but if they can at least match a 4070 with their high end while providing good enough value over it, they're perfectly okay in my book. I just don't see intel getting significant market share. Don't get me wrong, I want these cards to succeed, but they're gonna run into the same issue AMD has been running into I feel with their GPU's.

what exactly is holding amd back that intel cant do?
By that I mean that AMD has had issues that almost no matter how much value they give in terms of raw value over NVIDIA that they could never really get a foothold over them with actual, regular consumers. Theres a number of reasons why that is, some objective, some not, but in my opinion its those same issues that Intel will run into imo

shame AMD doesnt make the changes. yes, there are reasons and stigma that follow them. if intel bring some goodies, I think amd will push harder. competition is good for us.

I'm honestly hoping the fight for market share forces both AMD and Intel to innovate as they ultimately both want the same thing (More market share). Nvidia aren't innovating nearly as much as they used too (at least, in what matters to me imo), even if AMD can't match Nvidia they'll still have someone to compete against at least.

Let's just hope for the best, thats what I like to think. It's still wishful thinking though.

nvidia amd and intel certainly, all have far larger businesses that are for data centers and for corporate stuff and gpu for nvidia makes a small chunk of it.

as much as the recent issues with intel, I do want them to succeed. for all of us, it would be best if all 3 had only 1/3 of the market share. but here nvidia is top and I hope they fall asleep and intel makes the leap and amd sees they will lose more market share if they dont push hard themselves

whats the avatar character you have there?

I think this is in some ways what everyone kinda wants, in one way or another. Its the same logic behind sports. I'm not worried about AMD or Intel going anywhere as a whole, I'm more so worried about their graphic cards. I think of it the same was as sports. Nobody likes seeing the king on top forever.

Its Piccolo from DBZ, specifically from the part of the saiyan saga where hes training Gohan. This was just a gem of a frame where he looks absolutely disgusted, so I saved it.
