As we live the age of game remakes, which game you would like to see to have a remake?

At least a friend of mine who is a System Shock fan said that the remake is a good game.
I was never a fan of the original. I'm very much enjoying the remake. It's been a blast so far.

This game :peace:

What, Bass Master? It's been done... a LOT!

I know that mostly these games come from ps1 or ps2 but the fact of enjoying every single one of them is why i want to see a remake.

SOUL REAVER - legacy of Kain series
SHINOBIDO - Way of the Ninja
The Mark of Kri
The Witcher 1
Turok
Dino Crisis

...and will be excellent to see an OKAMI 2.
..sorry i forgot a masterpiece

Tenchu !!!!

Golden Sun series
Golden Axe, Shinobi, Streets of Rage (Not 4 with The Flash Animation style) Virtua Fighter, Virtual-On, Vectorman. Sonic ( Bring Back SA1 style game, with proper Spin Attack Ball Animation that is in SA1, which was butchered in SA2+, no fucking boost).

id like to see fallout 3 and NV remade for VR/flat, same gos for Crysis but just VR and of course DOOM.

Ultima series + Underworld, Savage Empire, Martian Dreams...

Thief series too... :)

Hey, Freelancer remake is being worked on. They call it Star Citizen    Forever

Most games are best left alone. But some, by it's unique game design or atmosphere just cry for a remake, f.e.:

Bad Company 2 (2010)
Favourite game ever! Has tons of features and mechanics you won't find in modern Battlefield games. Destruction 2.0, "War Tapes" HD sound, dirty language & all the "legacy features" a Battlefield game used to have. Sadly with all the elite dev's leaving cancerous EA we won't get something even close again. Only cringe woke trash like BF2042.

Split/Second (2010)
One of the best arcade racers of all time. From Disney. You can trigger explosives and change the track, very Michael Bay'ish. Tried the multiplayer back then and it really sucked mostly thanks to no anticheat and loosers just triggering every explosive on you. So it added some extra challenge, lol.

Turok (1997) & Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (1998)
Turok introduced gamers to a world teeming with cunning enemies, traps, puzzles and deadly weapons all within a vast 3D environment ready to explore. Has a great soundtrack & atmosphere.

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse (2005) Be the Zombie. Kick A** and Take Brains
World in Conflict: Complete Edition (one of the best RTS ever made)
Gran Tursimo 1-4 (esp. for the classic tracks)
Metal Gear Solid Classics (Collection already confirmed)
Deus Ex
F.E.A.R.
007 Goldeneye
Super Mario (Classics incl. Mario Kart)
F-Zero
Blur

There is a remake on STEAM, Arkanoid - Eternal Battle. Mixed reviews. Doesn't carry a lot of nostagia. :shadedshu:

Grand Theft Auto 6's setting will be Miami, so you'll kinda get a remake of Vice City. :)

So...I'm missing something. Nigtdive already did Turok 1 and 2...because both of them are in my Steam inventory. As they were from that N64 era...doesn't that count as a remake?

Likewise we already got multiple Resident Evil remakes...though they have been inconsistent.

I'm asking this out of partial ignorance, and partially hoping that I can reintroduce you to good stuff today. I know that Turok is fantastic on the PC where the fog distance isn't nearly as bad as it used to be....though you may find that the final level is absolutely cheaper than you remember with random death and Serious Sam style enemy walls without the...good design to allow you to necessarily backpedal fast enough to not die.
Likewise the Duke Nukem style die and lose part of your stuff permanently is...not fun.

I haven't kept up on the responses in this thread but I've seen identical discussions elsewhere on the Internet.

One game that comes up very frequently for a potential remake is Resident Evil Code Veronica. With the success of Resident Evil 4 Remake I'm sure this has been discussed internally at Capcom.

Just thought of another that could be remade and probrably do well if it's done right.

It's the game "PTO II" that Koei did years ago for the SNES and PC (Early-Mid 1990's), it's a strategy game and although it seemed simple it really wasn't.
Updating the game overall with improvements to the game's AI would make it a good one. Added options for actions taken, ship features and more would improve things and the ability to actually "Man the guns" yourself as a gunner for shore bombardment or AA, even ship-to-ship action would just add to the playability of the game.

Yes, it's a really dated game now but it still plays well inspite of it's age.
This is an example vid of the SNES version (What I have) to show what it's about, based on one of the quick scenario's it has.
P.T.O II: Pacific Theater of Operations (SNES) - Day of Infamy (Attack on Pearl Harbor) - YouTube

EDIT: Seems there were later versions of the game done too, I did see a reference to PTO IV so would probrably be easier to remake because of that (I'd think).

Anachronox is #1 on my list. I've never gotten very far in it, but just the setting is incredible.

Wanted a new wrestling game like the N64 Aki Corp days. (WCW/NWO Revenge,Virtual Pro Wresling1/2,No Mercy, WM2000, etc)

Next week AEW Fight Forever comes out made by Yukes and the Original Aki Corp Dev. :D

Another title that would be worthy of a full remake would be 007 GoldenEye.

Personally I would love to see a hi-def (1080p or 4K) remake of Donkey Kong Country on Nintendo's next generation hardware. Or maybe a 4K version of Super Mario 64.

FInal Fantasy III (VI) (Super Nintendo)
Gunstar Heroes (Sega Genesis)
Silent Hill (Sony PlayStation)
Castlevania Symphony of the Night (Sony PlayStation)

Personally, remakes don't make sense to me. Remasters? Yes. 100% would love to see Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy in UHD, but if I enjoyed a game don't change it. If I didn't enjoy it I don't particularly care for a remake.

I understand older games might take what is technically a remake to bring the visuals into 2023 (Gollum for example...J/K), but keep the story, keep the mechanics, keep everything you can. Nostalgia doesn't sell if it is only a vague feeling, and you risk pissing a lot of people off.

An RTS way ahead of its time. With fully simulated ballistic projectiles and debris. Terrain elevations actually affect gameplay in a meaningful way.

Hmmm, today I would like a remake / remaster of Landstalker (Genesis / Megadrive)

FInal Fantasy III (VI) (Super Nintendo)
Another one? I agree though. Would love to see a 3D remake along the lines of Final Fantasy 3 & 4 for DS and Steam. Final Fantasy 5 as well. High definition remastering of the graphics would be nice.

The 2 Turok games on STEAM are from 1997 & 1998. It isn't a remake, it's basically a "Enhanced" version of a console port, making them playable on PC.

A real reboot of the series is just overdue. The game has a totally unique atmosphere and a huge potential for a reboot. With all the boomer shooter hype lately, maybe they will jump on it.

For me at the moment:
-Zone of the enders
-Ninja gaiden or sequel
-Guild wars
-Final fantasy 6 or 8 or 9

Deep Rock Galactic... with Path Tracing.

Imagine the caves.

Blowing the scout up will never look so good.

What games would you like to see remade in a new engine, like Unreal Engine 5?

I would really like to see the games "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" (2001) and "Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed" (2000) remade in a new engine and optimized for 4K resolution.

And I would also like them to be redone in the Vulkan API to make better use of CPU and GPU resources.
