ATI Control Center Error

Hey all,

I always get an error when ATI's control center is installed.
This message pops-up at the start when I log-in to my windows account.
And I does also pop-up when 'right-clicking' and chosing the fast option for
'ATI CONTROL-Control Center'..

The error is as follows:

cli.exe - error
Can not initialise the program (0xc0000135). Click OK to end the program.

My specs:
ATI Radeon 9800 SE (128mb RAM)
AMD Athlon 3000+ XP
1024mb DDR RAM

Installed latest drivers of catalyst (at time of writing)
Also use ATItool on following settings:
Core 364.50
Memory 291.60

This to fix artifacts my card is having...

Can someone figure out whats causing this.
If you need more info or a complete dxdiag-list, I'll provide when needed.

i think your card is going because i had the same problem when my 9250 went it just wouldent run

Did you installed Microsoft.Net Framework? Without it CCC will not work.

You sure of that? .net frame is normally a 20MB download itself. Catalyst Drivers + CCC are only a 34MB download - it would have to be a scaled down version.

When I re-formatted recently, I installed the 5.13's and it installed it for me. I didn't have to install it. Hmmm, maybe it asked me if I wanted to install it and then d-loaded it automatically!?!?!? Damn, can't remember now. All I know is I didn't do it through win update or stand alone.

Umm, I've gotten the same problem also, and it was before I installed .net so find out.

Same error msg with X800GTO...

I did a new build with a fresh copy of WinXP Pro and Cat 5.13, and neither loaded the .NET for me. I couldn't figure it out until Poisonsnak pointed out that some people are having difficulty with .NET 2.0 using ccc 5.13, and to load .NET 1.1 from MS to bypass the problem. Of course I didn't have any .Net installed (which was the entire problem), but at least it made me look at the program to see if its installed.

Goto your Window's Control Panel and look in Add/Remove Programs to verify you have a .NET framework installed so CCC will work.

You're right!! .Net didn't came with my download of the latest-catalystdrivers..
I've downloaded it and installed and it works fine now

I also hate CCC and .NET bla... bla... but CCC has some extras which are not present in CP unfortunately . That's why I am forced to live with that :shadedshu .

Sorry to bring this from the dead but I figured out why I never had to install the .net crap prior to installing ATI drivers with CCC.

After I install WinXP, I immediately install SP2 from the disc I ordered from MS. This has .net 1.1 as part of the install.
