OFFICIAL Battlefield 1 (Discussion)

Runs smoother than BF4 did for me. I never go below 60FPS on my OCed 970 with everything maxed on on DX12

Smooth as butter on my system. Not one issue. DX12 seems to look a bit better. Smoother for sure. I'm not seeing the performance drop.

I've noticed this too. But, I did see a performance hit on mine. I still have to tweak my ultra settings. If anything I will disable AA by turning off TSAA probably save me 20 FPS. You can't really notice any AA when its 2k+ resolutions

None can say Battlefield 1 isn't a beautifuly rendered game. supporting almost everything a DX11 game can offer. DX12 will be interesting. the main thing is, will it be fun? somehow people didn't like the complexity of last Battlefield games. including me. running up walls and flying and shit ? ..many FPS gamers like realism. going back to the WW1 for that is about as real as it gets.

I personally don't want to fly with a booster on my back, see through walls with some "vision", rocket jump, send a drone scout, double jump and some things. and i don't like aliens in my realism games. Battlefield 1 has the potential to be taken seriously. the game is well designed. but that doesn't mean everybody will like it. but the price is fucked up!? i don't get it.

?????????????

"Running up walls"

Also bolded the second one .... it's a crap game and realism is not what BF aims for.

Sounds like Hnykill22 is describing COD and not Battlefield...

What i mean is that many people don't like this"future" Battlefield thing. BF 1942 was a stellar game. Battlefield 1 is closer to that design than any other versions. but i get your point ;)

I'm cool with this game not being for me, TBH i have not invested much time into BF4 either.. under 200hrs in total since release, i play CSGO as my main FPS game, it's why my aim is quit "crisp" in that video.

Don't make stuff up though, you just described COD :P

The game looks beautiful, but just felt kinda bland for me. Probably not getting it

I might try the beta. Haven't decided yet.

It promotes madness and madness happens in any BF game. Why this sells is beyond my understanding and age. But it is beautiful and to certain degree entertaining... maybe I should enter low populated servers to experience the ultra realistic soldier front-boredom that I need so much, looking into the distance with songs, booze and cigars (well, if servers come back to life...:-)

you said it yourself "madness" that's part of why it sells.

What would you guys like to see DICE do for a worthwhile Battlefield title? (if you have no interest in battlefield games, why are you in a battlefield thread complaining about a battlefield game?)

I really don't understand why people wont try a free beta. is your time really that limited?

I myself was hyped asF after the trailer, but the gameplay is terrible.

DICE have always made epic trailers and most of the time deliver on game play unless you get broken games like BF4 was upon release. It's just executed very badly.

Here is my list that BF1 has.

Bad.

Aggravatingly bad movement, get stuck trying to jump over a curb height obstacle.
Inconsistency of spotting function, it either works or just completely fails.
Inaccuracy of weapons is **** and makes the game luck based instead of skill based.
The map in Beta is terrible because it just attracts snipers and there is no real cover on the out flags from tanks.
No Battlefield feel and no actual immersion.
Feels lost in what it is trying to be.
Expect performance to be patched up, but the Beta is essentially the main game and won't be fixed.

Good.

Graphics/sound top notch as to be expected from DICE, they are true artists in this regard.
Well optimised despite the memory leak issue right now with system RAM which should get fixed... BF4 had a similar problem as did BF3.

Every battlefield. I'm pretty sure no one at dice can walk

I haven't noticed this, ill keep an eye out

This only really affects certain weapons BUT it does break those classes. 100% agree

it is a sniper friendly map, but i like the clear distinction for Armour and infantry. you shouldn't be able to run around and do everything with one class/thing
No Battlefield feel and no actual immersion.
I disagree, but i withhold final judgement until i see the full game

As for lost it's self.. does not know what it wants to be...

Looking any similar? not re-skinned?

Runs so much smoother than BF4, as well as looking and sounding absolutely amazing. I was surprised to see an FOV option for the console finally :o really happy they implemented that because now I can enjoy it so much more. A bit of nitpicks, tanks getting stuck, and dying realllllly fast.

I spent many of my years playing Quake 3. i even played duel with the professional gamers at that time. and i was pretty good at my gameplay. i know what it means to have a good graphic card. what FPS means and is. i know games. but what you are talking about is just "do i like it". and then you shame the company that makes the game for not fulfilling your dream of desire. Battlefield 1 is a one good looking game. you dont always have to eat what is on the table if you are not hungry

same engine, desert map. so yes similar. you do realize that they literally ported maps from bf3 to bf4 right?

so the AT rocket gun IS in the game! you cant unlock it until you reach the first tier assault rank. (imo the assault class is the only class to play on this map)

played with Dave and Erocker and we dominated the scoreboard for about 10 games straight. last game I had over 30k points. squad up give orders and watch your rank climb (in a good squad you should rank about twice a game)

Tried the beta, meh...

Only played conquest so far but I dunno if it's just me but this map is awful.

This.....I just cannot get over this........

Though I only played the alpha so maybe it has changed, but it is absolutely infuriating.

Weapon balancing will vary many times over the life of the title. I actually find accuracy pretty good in this title right now. I played for 3 hours today, and as Black Haru said, we managed to do pretty darn well working together, whatever problems there might be with weapons. You just need to learn how to use each weapon to its fullest, and in the right situation. I'm not getting hit after running around a corner, I'm not running head-first at opposing team members and dying every time. For me, many of the subtle "problems" that people complained about in BF4 are addressed.

I enjoy games for their differences. BF franchise has never been sim-based like ARMA, so I don't expect things to be realistic, or accurate. I expect things to NOT be realistic or accurate, and figuring out how it behaves differently that other titles is what separates good players from the average players.

That's also the great thing about BETAs like this, it behaves like a demo, giving you a chance to try out the game, and if you don't like it, then don't buy it. I am not sure, though I like the game, whether I can find the value for the cost they are asking for.

So I tried it and I like it. SLI works pretty good since I can just set the settings to ultra and maintain a steady 60fps across the whole map so iunno where some of you are getting your issues since 99% of the time if SLI works then your single card should work.

5 kills with a mounted machine gun in 15 seconds including an armored vehicle, this game is balanced alright.
