ok since i got this new monitor battlefield 2 keeps crashing when i start the game i dont get anny error's it just stops and black screen
i reinstalled the game but stil doest work anny one knows how to fix it ?

Install the game
Install patch 1.4 (I think, it's the newest one)
Install Tampa Beta
Install patch 1.4 again

Run program.

Are you running ATI Tool or a program like it in the background while gaming? If so, close that program and try the game again...(Punkbuster doesn't like ATI Tool and other such programs...)

Also erocker's suggestions are very much worth a shot...for some reason Tampa Beta can cause issues with the 1.4 patch install requiring re-install.

Hope that helps! :toast:

whats tampa ?

deleted the folder in your my docs, start the game.

Ahh yeah...I forget that the folder that shaves the shader info and such can become corrupted and cause issues...usually for me it'd get half way through loading a game and freeze...but letting me alt-tab out and close it.

Definately worth a shot Morgoth!

I've had bf2 mess up so bad I had to reinstall windows many of times.

its empty
my bf2 dvd is also damaged cus some times it cant read :S

Trying tweaking you clocks a bit, BF2 is very OC sensitive.

hmmm oh yea i was running it normaly on 3600mhz now i had it on 3650mhz:P
i try that
testing out 3750mhz stability

its empty

ummm do a memtest.

BF2 is install acts up really bad with bad memory.

Personally, even with a stable OC on BF2, It always crashed for me... Try stock system settings. That always does it for me.

running at stock settings still crashes
last think i changed before last time i played bf2
that i changed my video card x1950pro to hd3850 and new monitor

What about your XP Customized...what all did you customize?

I am hoping that was not a pre-customized version...could be missing something that BF2/PB wants...I feel it's something to do with your software...whether it's the game itself, PB, the install DISC or Windows.

Have you checked event viewer to verify that there's not an error being set?

just theme :P (brouwser collor ect)
stylexp programm

Well...can you temp disable it and see if that changes anything?

I use the MS Zune theme myself...simple, sleek, and no resource change. I've yet to try stylexp tho...I had the Vista theme 8.0 on my G/F's rig for a while..it was okay...and a little buggy...when I uninstalled it..she still has the Vista icons which is pretty cool actually...I'm gonna do a backup of her icons and x-fer them to my rig soon.

You are sure nothing else has changed with all the messing around you've done? We all do stuff...hell I know I've changed something between today and yesterday...but really what I did...lol I don't remember beyond playing with BIOS to see if I could push the P35 NB harder..hehe.

Nothing in event viewer to go off of?

Now when it's loading the map...is it building the Shader stuff now that you deleted that folder? And it still locks up, black screens and such?

Have you tried it at stock speeds?

Sorry to derail this.

GamePowerUP!

How did I miss this?

Hehe...it's been around since just before new years...I did a CoD4 review for it...I tried getting some more attention that way...but there's not many people here that sign up over there as you gotta re-register to use that forum.

It's kind of slow moving right now, but we're hoping to get things going as time progresses and public support improves.

I was recommending in the Games section of this forum to be linked over to GPU! Forums though...but hasn't happened yet!

But, now that you mention it DaM...anyone and everyone should check out GPU! and help support it!

This is a known issue on BF2, this is why I installed XP sooo many times when I played that game.

Del the registry entry

Del your my docs BF2 folder

Del all of your temp files
(you could try uninstaling BF2 and running CCleaner before reinstalling it)

what keys in register?
uninstalled bf2 and running ccleaner
