Hi All,

As the headlien says, what's the best Anti-Theft Laptop backpack that can handle a 17.3 Inch laptop? no matter about the cost - maybe maximum 200$ but have to justify it somehow xD, a military class one is much welcome as well, thank you all in advance.

I am working with a team of workers, I already had my portable hard drive stolen twice xD, Data is important but at my tent - yes a tent.. - I might get stolen, I know someone can pick up the whole thing but so far I hope that doesn't happen + at the airport once I lost my Power Bank from the side zipper - I am having a useless Razer backpack as you can see - so an anti theft one with a military grade materials would be so much appreciated.

should do the job, although they say it has a sleeve for a 15" laptop, the internal picture shows room for larger.

...I know someone can pick up the whole thing but so far I hope that doesn't happen...

And that's the problem. No portable item of worth is safe unless you can secure it to something. Your best bet is using a laptop with strong frame and Kensington lock slot, with a reinforced Kensington cable, and secure it to something solid.

Another option is GPS tracking software, which aids in locating a phone, tablet, or laptop after it's stolen. These usually have capability of using a built-in web cam to aid police in identifying thieves.

Another option might be getting a suitable dog to guard it while you're away from it.

An expensive backpack would just be a waste of money.

The backpack is to keep the stuff safe when I move, it's a bit of a hustle for me I know but where I come from it's so easy to get a theft and you would feel nothing or someone on a motorcycle cut it and takes it away :/ that's why I asked for the bag.

OK, I thought by what you said you were looking more for theft prevention than something to carry it with. The thing about backpacks is they almost make theft easier, because a person looks less suspicious with a pack on his/her back, than carrying a bare laptop.

Hope you get something that suffices though.

i would say that the best anti theft prevention is securing the files and folders INSIDE the laptop. God forbidden your bag can be snatched even with the backpack but if your folders containing your important work and family related info, photos, files, videos and other stuff are taken, for me that is bigger loss because they can not be retrieved. So encrypt your documents, password lock your folders and most importantly, set up a back up to your stuff on encrypted cloud storage so you can always access your data anytime anywhere.

A laptop bag that is handcuffed to your wrist... to steal it or the bag they would need to kidnap you.

Pelican protector 1495 case would be my pick.

It's not a bag it's a hardcase, with rings for 2 big padlocks and a combination lock. It's also waterproof, near indestructible, and fully foam lined.

Because it can be padlocked it can be chained down if need be.

If you defiantly want a backpack then I'd recommend the Lowepro Fastpack 350. It's a discontinued model now but I have one for my camera gear. It's robust enough, space for a 17" laptop held in a zipped side pocket. And you can re-purpose the camera area for laptop charger, external drives ect. And the top pocket is large enough for everything else.

Surprisingly, I had never heard of a laptop bag that gets handcuffed to your wrist. Heard it for the first time.

It's a do it yourself thing.. one regular laptop bag, one pair of handcuffs, one loop of the cuffs through the handle of the bag, one on the wrist of the hand carrying the bag. They do it with briefcases in the movies all the time.

Too bad life isn't like the movies. Guy steals laptop, owner goes Jason Statham chasing him down on a motorcycle, thief gets kicked off cliff, owner gets a hero's praise, the end.

I'm pretty sure all that will do is let potential thieves know that you have something valuable enough to warrant it needing to be handcuffed to you. :p

I'd say encryption on your device and regular backups. Get a metal briefcase with some kind of lock on it too. Put the briefcase in a backpack if you have to.

Nah, just put a Samsung Note 7 in there, and they'll run scared. LOL

It's just the Note 7 so far.
Yeah that's what I get for doing a vague search for Samsung S7 problems.

At any rate, I imagine many are apprehensive about using ANY 7 model Samsungs.

I personally lug around my 27 inch laptop, i have a trip wire bomb trap covering the zipper so if it's meddled with it goes boom along with the idiot.
When it's on my back i carry a French 370 mm railway howitzer.
