Bethesda to Publish id's Rage

I would love to hear some news on the progress of this game. some say 2010 some say 2011.. either way they have not said much about this game for a while and that leads me to believe we could be hearing something soon.

DUDE! i would piss on myself if i could'nt get home from school and play my shareware version of doom!

My old 486DX played it very choppy with 8mb of ram and a SB16 HEHE but i loved it.

I think that has more to do with how few gamers today really know who ID are . . . all things considered, the old-school PC gamers tend to stay extremelly interested in whatever ID is cooking up . . . they've been one of the main innovators in FPS tech for 20 years now, being the first to release things that players today have taken for granted . . .

And, considering the majority of gamers today have consolitis, and the rest tend to be fairly young . . .

IMHO, they all need to be schooled on ID's 1337n355.

ID made Wolfenstein--one of the best FPS games I've played in a long time. I hope they don't fold.

BethSoft publishing a game really means nothing because both businesses are under the same umbrella (Zenimax).

As well - ID have published by themselves before, so they kinda know the ropes . . .

Big thing, though, is that ID is of such uber-1337 status as a game developer they can do as they wish . . . a publisher isn't going to enforce deadlines or specific features or otherwise on them - very few game devs have ever attained such status . . .

It was co-developed by Raven Software (Windows, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions), id Software (ID Tech 4 engine), and Endrant Studios (multiplayer). ID Software holds the trademark to Wolfenstein so technically it is their game.

If Valve made Unreal Tournament IV, it would technically be Epic's because Epic is the trademark holder for Unreal Tournament. When working with a franchise, everyone has to dance to the tune of the franchise owner.

There is no doubt a lot riding on Rage as well as Doom 4. ID's problem is they don't have enough titles (3.5 million sales is great but not when it happens only every 6 years). Hopefully Rage will change that.
