He actually had the same issue in Windows. Only 4 gpu's out of 6 would show up.
That is odd, they should still show up in device manager, even if they driver isn't active on them.
Has he tried just leaving the 3rd card plugged in to its slot and taking the first two cards out, and booting with that?
What slots are the cards plugged into? I don't think it would matter, but it might be something funky with how this board handles dividing the PCIe lanes.
