Is the format supported by your computer screen??? Driver issue maybe?

if you use anyDVD HD, that removes the encryption. you can then try media player classic in the CCCP codec pack - see my guide here

hmm last thought, powerDVD has a 'hardware acceleration' tickbox. try with it both on, and off.

What version of PowerDVD? I do know PowerDVD 8 does provide software decoding of Blu Ray.

overclocker,

which soundcard are you using? Does it have the appropriate HDMI output and are those audio signals being passed to your AV receiver?

Tell us more about your hardware.

If you're using analogue cables for the audio is this reflected in your PowerDVDs settings?

yup that is the problem. Try that, I too had issues like that before.

Which version are you using? The free crap version? That thing is just piece of poop. Get the full version like me and you will be happy. I hated the OEM version and finally got the retail one and plays well.

For auto decoding of DolbyTrueHD and DTS HD to PCM DTS 5.1 install reclock and check the option on it to run with PowerDVD, it will take care of sound issues.

he he I have gone thru loads of pain to fix this sh*t.

well its definately a codec/software problem. Have a look around for trial versions of other blu ray playback software. Google found me WinDVD, as an alternative.

Are you using your laptop screen and external LCD at the same time? You might have to set it to only use the external display, as the video will only play if the player is on the primary display which is your laptop LCD unless you disable it.
