not only him ... a lot, i bet, had issues with XFX (here or elsewhere i more commonly saw XFX other than any brands in "complain")

IE:
my 1st XFX card? 6850 Black Ed., cause of death? fan stopped working(at last it's what i thought), did it RMA well? nope. reason involved? cracked die due to a over-tight screw due to user negligence (albeit the fact that i never touched the original cooler and all stickers where still in place, include the warranty void if removed on 1 HSF screw)
my 2nd XFX card? 7950 double D., cause of the death? oh well not really dead but 1 fan on 2 stopped working, did it RMA well? nope again ... it was my fault (presumably) reason involved? none, just a plain refusal, solution found? changed the fan by myself and resold the card to buy something else

it's not a random change of mind who did put XFX in my "do not buy" list
do not misunderstand: some user have no problem and when a XFX product work they work fine, tho i hate playing lottery with hardware (except with Nvidia and their Shield Tablet ... i one of the lucky guy with a "no default at all sample" )

I see. I represent XFX USA, Region North and South America.

Was this issue in Switzerland? If so, then XFX Europe denied your RMA Request? Forgive my assumptions, but I was under the impression all RMA's done in Europe went directly back to the retailer, not the manufacturer.

We send out replacement fans free of charge to our regions, i'm not sure why that wasn't offered. Denying an RMA without a reason while under warranty is probably a crime. Surely there is some reason?

Anyway, as your rep here at TPU, send me your cases if you feel that you were slighted or mislead, id be happy to help review them and get them resolved.

XFX has never sent me a free product despite my complete lack of doing anything to receive one. Please remedy this.

(Not a passive aggressive stab at anyone.)

This is what everyone says, I didn't do anything but use the card and it just broke and they said it was my fault. Some people who buy computer hardware are so entitled it's crazy and I personally think XFX is wasting time and resources because it's the sort of customer that likely returns and breaks everything they order. Because they feel they should be able to buy hardware run it into the ground then complain when it stops working two years later and that they arent' covered by the warranty that they didn't sign up for. Registering for a warranty isn't something that's recently changed in the industry, 10 years ago I had to do the same shit. I mean hell even before the internet they expected you to fill it out and mail it to them if you wanted/expected a full warranty. But one of my 5 year old 3870's that I was running crossfire burnt out, and can you believe it ATI didn't refund me for what it was retailing for 6 years ago. Because it would literally be cheaper to lose me as a customer for one since margins are so thin. But the reason I didn't go for RMA was because I can recognize that it's not ATI's fault that my 2nd card burnt out. If anything it's the fact that my comptuer is on 90% of the time. But if it had a lifetime warranty does anyone think that I should honestly expect a full cash refund? I'm sure they'd send me another 3870 if they even had one. But I think asking for a hardware warranty 4 years later even if it's a life warranty is just some BS. Because at that point it's out of date and they can't just ship you a new one. They also don't have to give you a refund because something breaks after 4 years. Especially if it's not the fault of ATI but instead the blame lies solely on the user. I think that there are plenty of legitimate cases where people aren't refunded when they should of been. Because there's this ridiculous industry standard that if you don't give me a free 3 year warranty you don't believe in your product, but if you do and don't just send me a new card/refund no questions asked then I'm totally outraged. If they said it was your fault it likely was, and to the frog guy if it truly was that "one guy" just "dicking you around" you could of hung up called again, or even asked to speak to someone else. Instead of holding a childish grudge against an entire company because they wouldn't fully refund your card that has a "lifetime warranty". People fail to understand that warranty only covers faulty cards. It does not cover a card that you burnt out via use. The most ridiculous complaint was the guy who should've owned a surge proctecter fries his whole pc. Then blames the PSU supplier and demands they refund him for the Retail price of every item in his computer. When in reality they shouldn't of even refunded his damn psu because he's never going to buy from them again since they should recognize it's an underdeveloped person who justifies their bias with anecdotal experience. But it's because people fear change and would rather stick with what they are used to and the marketing tries to make you take sides and sway moderates with fps per dollar analysis. It's more buzz than it is an accurate display of perfomance. So obviously I should of kept the card hounded Nvidea instead and then complained when I ended being stuck with it. Sounds like a good plan, better go complain about it on the internet and try to influence people's purchasing decisions based on my personal biased. It's this bad now just imagine if a Ceo of some hardware company was gay or expressed even any semblence of a viewpoint political or not.

@Fab: I registered my XFX products and had lifetime warranties on them too. A lifetime warranty is a great selling point.

"Double lifetime warranty" When you can transfer the warranty to a second buyer. i bought a XFX 9800GT here on TPU i was the second owner. card just stop working XFX refused RMA said the warranty was only 3years. So i guess the "Double lifetime warranty" was just a sales Gimmick!

From XFX website

May I transfer the limited hardware warranty?

The limited hardware warranty for selected Graphics Cards may only be transferred to one owner after the original owner.*** The following Graphics Cards are eligible:

  1. ALL XFX Radeon HD 6000, HD 5000, HD 4000 Series Graphics Cards
  2. XFX GeForce GT 520, GT 430, 200, 9000, 8000, 7000, 6000 Series Graphics Cards purchased after April 17, 2007
Limited hardware warranties for Graphics Cards may be transferred if the new owner registers online at http://www.xfxforce.com/ within 90 days of the transfer using the same Registration ID as the original owner. This new owner registration process is a condition precedent to transferring the limited hardware warranty for Graphics Cards. The duration of the new owner’s limited hardware warranty will be limited to the duration of the original owner’s limited hardware warranty. If the original owner has a warranty for the duration of its life, the new owner’s life shall become the measuring life that determines the duration of the warranty.

No, it was not a gimmick. My neighbor bought my HD-6850 Black edition from me and they let him register the card in his name. He hasn't had issues with it yet. But he's the second ~registered~ owner.

(note that I had to answer an email from XFX confirming that I had transferred ownership of the card before they would register it to him)

Mx brown sw in my fiances kb. Feels nice for gaming and typing
I don't mind gaming on my MX blues, but for typing they can allow me to type pretty fast without having to hit any keys very hard, even the browns have a little more resistance to them. The blues are so buttery to me and for someone who spends more time in front of a computer than he does sleeping, a decent keyboard is paramount. Some of my older keyboards would hurt my fingers after a couple hours because of the force required to push down the keys. My fingers never hurt when I have to type on the RK-9100. The USB 2.0 hub on it is nice too as it's a perfect place for the wireless mouse transceiver.

CPU: has been Intel for the past 3 Q6700>i7 950 > i7 4790K price performance in the 350$+ range. Prior to that it was all AMD.
Mobo: latest is an MSI runs fine but has a dead ram slot, prior few had all been gigabyte, but the specials/deals worked towards MSI this time. Overall I think Ive had 1 or 2 bad boards in the past 15 years, one I remember was a DOA ASUS, I think there might have been one more. Overall not too loyal here as it's been a low failure rate.

GPU: was all AMD/ATI up until the 9600GT was faster than my 2900XT, then it was all NV until the latest R9 290. Again it was price/perf 350$ + at the time I was buying (970 wasn't out).
Coolers: = best performance/reliability at the time.
PSU:= I have only had Enermax the past 12 years or so. (used to buy whatever was cheap, learned that lesson) I buy them infrequently and to my knowledge every single unit I've purchased from them still runs. Not that I won't recommend other brands to others if their budget is lower

Case: = whatever fits and had good airflow
Monitor: = mostly had viewsonics but have had good luck with many brands including the current BenQ
Memory: Again several brands and I think I've had 1 bad stick all time personally. (seen several fail professionally but not past expected margins) so G-Skill, corsair, kingston, crucial, samsung, etc.
HD/SSD: Have lost many a disk in my day to all brands though maxtors were terrible imo. Don't really have an issue running almost any brand here provided the price/specs match what I'm looking for.

If AMD wants to go toe to toe with Intel again like in the old days I'd likely check them out. In the whole "my give up" thing they're doing now I'll head towards performance. Otherwise I'm open to most other areas.

yeah, i may move to AMD if they offer better performance with lower power consumption
