I am selling my desktop to a friend for 700$. I am going to need to rebuild. Im gonna need a whole entire computer. I need it to be about 700$ with shipping. I game a good bit. My monitor will be a 22'' 1680x1050. Im open to do AMD or Intel. Same way with Nvidia or ATI. Please help ;).

AMD/ATI will fit your price the best... go for Phenom II & Radeon 5770/5890...

you'll have to get a cheaper case, because you should also get a good power supply and motherboard. Newegg is the place to be.

Antec 300 $60

Asus M4A77 Mobo $79

Corsair 550W $80

G Skill 4GB Ram $105

Phenom II 940 $150

Caviar Blue 300GB Hdd $48

Radeon 4850 $124

=$648+ shipping (est $25 to NY)

minus video card is 525 plus shipping (550)
you can get a 4850 for 125, but im not seeing a 5850 for less than 300 -
so you'll be closer to 900 at the end than 700

Do you think I could maybe stretch for a 5850 system?

Buy my 965BE  AM3 is the way to go for gaming :D Athlon X4 if you are on tight budget. Im tired of looking at these parts on my desk (if you couldn't tell).

$523 after rebates, not bad.

id say intel dual core or AMD x3 720 terms of GPU in your price range 5770

something like

Case generic $50
DVD drive generic $20
CPU cooler: Xiggy s1283 $35
CPU x3 720BE $120 oem
mobo Asus M4A79XTD evo $110
gpu 5770 $170
PSU corsair 550vx $80
HDD pick something $60
Ram pick something $100 4gigs
OS : win 7 64bit $100

not really in your budget but a good base line to work with

I have the OS covered. ;)

well then that means the above is pretty damn close to what you need

the above is roughly $745 without shipping get a antec PSU and look at some combo deals and mail in rebates and your good to go :toast:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341022

OCZ psu 550 watt mail in rebate = $44 for it half the price of the corsair means $710 roughly

and it seems the 720 has dropped to $109 so thats $11 less so $699 haha hells yea im on a roll woot

Coolermaster Hyper 212+ $29.99 brings us in at $694

His 5770 is $162 so $8 less again so $686 im pretty sure you can get it all to fit :toast: good luck Charper

yeah, forgot cd drive in mine. I actually don't use one :-) my bad...

id go with the fa1ality or w/e PSU to save another $40 and get a the tricore with aftermarket cooling id also go with the ANtec 300 illusion as it comes with 5 fans 3 120s and 2 140mms for about $5 less

Tweaking atm...

Im thinking maybe a downgrade to like a 4850 so I can get a better proc/mobo then upgrade gpu later.

telling you man get the Antec 300 illusion has 5 fans and its $60 that gives you $30 leeway because that CPU is an OEM meaning your gonna need a heatsink and fan

Ok. Good idea. What do you think about the 4850 downgrade?

EDIT: The Illusion has 15$ shipping which is only 10$ cheaper than the scout....

well suit yourself but decent psu for $44 is better then $70 also allows you to keep the better GPU

trying to get biggest bang for buck here

See lemme explain better. No matter what the rebate is, the problem is I wont have the money to buy the thing. So when I spend that type of money if I have a better option I want to take that.

ah now THAT makes more sense in that case let me see what i can find

yea do that then and get the $99 sapphire 4850 (512mb) since your resolution is 1680x1050 the 512mb should be alright till you can upgrade to something better later
