Hello all,

I was wondering if the game would run on these specs:

Intel Celeron 2.4GHz - Overclocked to 3.2GHz
2 GB Ram
80GB HD
x1600 Pro 512MB

I know there not the best of specs, but they'll do until I get new specs.

So, What'd you think ? Will it run ?

My bro could play it in 1024x768 with 1gb ram, P4 3.2 and a x1300pro, minimum settings.
So you are looking at the same.

Alright. Yeh - New system is still being looked into. In fact, I would keep you updated but i'm never sure when your online / offline. You tend to have your MSN status as set 'Offline'.

A buddy of mine runs cod4 on a Ati agp x800 /1gb / P4 3.2 also my sis PC has the same CPU and Ram with a x1650 pro agp runs well also .

It's worth trying the demo, I think... you probably won't be able to "experience" the game like you could with a better rig that could run better settings or whatever.

yes it will run! i have a friend that runs the game all the textures aa and shit maxed out (but only 600x800) on an x1500,

however buying a cheap grafix card such as: 9600gt or HD3850 will greatly improve your overall gaming experience!

i too can vouch it will run. I've helped someone get it up and running on a similar system recently.

The CPU OC will help, the most important thing is to double check the textures settings - manually lock them on low/medium instead of on auto, and your performance should be just fine.

It will run but it will run like shit.

With a rig like that, u are never gonna get the full enjoyment out of modern titles and imo attempting to play them would just be ruining the potential experience u could have with these games in the future....

If I were u, I would be looking at older games (i.e. FAR CRY etc) and getting a nearly maxed out experience from these titles (most of which are avaialble for as little as 5 quid) than a 3rd rate peasant class experience from the newest titles.

Honestly, I would rather play a maxed out Far Cry than a low res low detail walking wounded 15FPS COD4

well you just proved a few things about yourself. Firstly that you dont really know what you're talking about, and secondly that you cant read. Two posts above yours it says that the OP has already got CoD4 working 'smooth and lag free' on the system in the opening post.

First thing.
'Running Smooth and Lag Free' is a matter of subjective opinion. My old system was way more powerful a gaming rig than the OP current system and I seen how COD4 ran on that.....it wasn't pretty....or at least, it was simply not good enough for someone with my standards for gaming.

I dont read through every damn post before replying to topics in forums. If the OP is happy with how the game runs then good for him.

Third Thing. If u think a rig with a Celeron CPU and a X1600 (total budget card from over 2 years ago)card is capable of running any modern game 'smoothly' then it is u who dont know what he is talking about!

Then i would beleive you either didnt have the settings set right, or your system was incredibly poorly optimised.

Not sure about the your X1600..
Coz the game woudn't run on my friends system.. basically the same spec..
But With GeForce 7950GT 128Mb AGP... Even on the lowest settings
The game gives an error when loading..

Your friends system definately had something wrong with it, if you need help fixing that make a new thread and we can work on it.

i dunno. i like the 60FPS i managed off an X1600 with an athlon 64 3200+. I'm pretty sure thats 'smooth' by most definitons. a 3.2GHz celeron vs a 2.0GHz athlon 64... you know, i'd bet the celeron was faster.
