Does the Amd x2 5000+ 2.6 support 1066mhz memory, i have seen a lot of system specs using it but the cpu specs says only upto 800mhz, my motherboard supports this memory. any help apreciated.

hmm, max ive ever gone with my tracers is a shade over 800, but im sure it will.

shouldnt matter about the cpu, if the board supports it, then it will run it at a different multi to the cpu if needed to compensate and run the ram at the rated speed, whats the motherboard ? in short, there shouldnt be any reason it cant run 1066 if its officially supported

it depends on the board, i believe. My only supports 1066mhz when using a phenom. But I would think that would be for all boards too.

Which board do you have?

Yeah, it's all about the board itself. The cpu has nothing to do with it.

Native 1066Mhz mem controller has only Phenoms. This is not Intel, where mem controller is onboard. For AMD its buil in in cpu.

Stick 1066 rated sticks in the board and "overclock" from 800 to 1066. I'm not sure, but I'm thinking that sticks rated to run at 1066 should run nice and cool if "overclocked" from 800 to 1066.

that seriousley make no sense sorry, if the board doesnt support 1066, overclock, it wont make them run any cooler or faster than running natively at 1066, if anything its more of a pain to set them manually

Basically what you said but with too much imagination and not enough explanation. Sorry.

well you could just drop the cpus multi cand overclock it back to stock to get the memory to run closer to it's native speed.

Yep, it will run on it, like previously stated, it's the board, not the CPU that matters. I had some Patriot 1066 ram and it worked like a charm with my X2 3600

you can use 1066 BUT it will show up stock at 800 you could overclock the HT(bus) speed with a lower mult. on the CPU to get 1066. I am using 1066 ram with my 5kbe that is what i have to do.
