Hi, TechPowerUp forums!

Just a simple question can a faulty Graphics Card with a burnt PCB damage PSU and HDD ?

I have a decent Be Quiet! 80+ Gold PSU maybe it have some protections from inside components ?

Or after video card fireworks it isn't a big deal ?

In the world of electronics anything is possible however if your graphics card went up in smoke I don't think your power supply would be damaged, it's very very slim chance that it has been, try your power supply you should be ok

It's more likely it's your psu that damaged it if you see burnt elements on your pcb.

No there was no smoke or exploding sounds i think because these video card has already burned in another computer. So probably my PSU or HDD isn't hurt ?

Ok, thanks for answers! Now i can connect my new future GTX 2080 or GTX 1080Ti and at the same time sleep in night without nightmares about dead PSUs or Video Cards. :D
