Can Moderators...

edit other posts in a different forum to which they personally manage? Not delete, but just edit?

This would come in handy when say a news error has been made but the news people aren't on... could i just report the post and then the moderator change it accordingly?

I understand if this is abusing the report message button slightly but the news is seen on the front page, would be a shame for it to be wrong.

You could just PM the news reporter on their error.

It would be best if you contacted the author of the article via PM and possibly use the cc function of the PM to send it to senior moderators, or the moderators of the news section, if you think the error needs and urgent fix.

ah thermo your back?! Havent seen you post in i don't know how long.

And yes i have PM'ed the reporter on the mistake, sometime i do feel rather anal about the small things but seeing as it goes on the front page too i just thought a quick fix could happen.

mod's can do whatever they want, where ever! i've even had my post's editted/deleted by btarunr :roll:

Hit the report button for a news post where you see a typo. Do so only 30 mins after the news has been posted, since in that period the news poster could be already working on the news post / patching it, etc. I will follow up with your reports.

I can edit/delete only in the News and Polls forums. Perhaps you've seen me housekeep the "president" poll thread which is in the frontpage polls forum. While you can see me edit posts, you sure can't see if I delete posts. You'll just find posts missing, though you won't know who deleted it. A senior moderator / admin can edit/delete wherever.

edit: I can delete spam anywhere in the forums, for the know.
