i just bought this card (radeon x850 pro vivo) off of ebay and now i am thinking its a dead card, but im hoping its not. ok so heres what happens:
1. when i install the normal 6.4 catalyst drivers and i restart, it boots up fine until the "windows" screen pops up and the three blue bars go across like 20 times.(green for XP home users i think, i have pro.) then the screen turns black, pauses like 20 seconds, then flashes the "windows blue screen of death" really really quick, then restarts the computer by itself. then it comes up "windows didnt sucessfully reboot and this can be of many reasons, blah, blah, blah" so then i go to "use last good configuration" and it boots up fine but its using the "default monitor" video, which i guess is on-board video.
2. when i install the newest omega drivers, it does the same thing.
3. when i install the drivers off the cd that came with it, it boots up sometimes to where i can login windows and then about 10 seconds after i login, it says "no language packs detected" or something along that matter, then freezes and reboots itself. so then i have to go into safe mode and delete catalyst and CCC and stuff.
I installed everything correctly too(about 15 times lol). i also uninstalled with the ati built in uninstaller thing and also with your uninstaller 2005. i put the thingy from the power supply to the hard drive and the video card in also cause i was thinking the card just wasnt getting enough juice, but guess not. now i am really hoping that this is not a bad card b/c the 1st card i bought the guy tried 2 rip me off and never sent the card, and now if this one is dead... man i guess someone is not wanting me to get a x850 LoL but i am going to test this card with a friends comp and i sure hope its not dead.
it recognizes the card with ati tool(i guess) but i dunno if its catalyst messin up or what(see attachment)
any help or input would be appreciated
