Fair enough.
My interpretation of "limited to an Nvidia card no higher than a 3070" was that it was "card with similar or lower price and driver overhead than Nvidia RTX 3070", rather than "limited to an Nvidia card. RTX 3070 or cheaper". If @OliverQueen meant that they will only consider Nvidia cards (I would question why, but they might have a good reason), then you're right, an RTX 3050 8GB would probably be the best new option.
