32 minutes till my full game download is finished, then it's vpn time to start playing ^^

I'm so excited to play Civ5 when I get home. 10 hours to go!

I've looked at the "webstore" a few times already today, still not for sale :(

it should be for prepurchase+preload even in the eu. unlock in the eu in 2 days, use the tpu vpn once you finished preloading

Oh CIV5 was released today! I loved 3 but never liked 4. Hopefully 5 will be fun enough.

EDIT: Please post screenshots W1z or anyone else!

I am gagging to play this :(

2 + the expansions were amazing, 3 was the best, 4 was great, 5 looks f%cking stupid.
@OP, thanks ill have to check this out when i get home

Interesting, I clicked to DL the demo and nothing happened, don't see it in my games list?

Got it preordered cant wait to get home to try it out ;D The new features look incredible. The game looks much more fluid now and realistic. It will be a lot easier to gauge an enemies strength due to units no longer stacking.

is this like a Risk type of game? saw some screen shots with the unit areas ...

Looks like Risk to me, but I never played it. The 5th has been touting a much improved easier to use UI, it does look sharp.

It's not a board game, but on a basic level I suppose that it is similar to Risk. There's a little more in-depth feel to it. And instead of controlling countries you control/build cities. Gain resources based on the city's economy and use those resources how you see fit (military, science..etc). It's good stuff for any strategy lover. There's a fair amount of micro management but Civ5 is supposedly lighter on it than previous versions. Which means more fun-time.

Unit movement looks kinda like Risk (and it's turn based), but it's far from it. You've never played a Civ game before? Then it's a good time to try it! :)

got the collectors edition being shipped to me from amazon.ca on priority cant wait to play it in a couple of days been playing it since number 2 on windows 3.1

Awsomesauce

100 moves total, or per game? i could see this as being a good drunk game at only 100 moves.

game feels quite different to civ 4. graphics look nice but seem a bit low contrast for me

Can you post some screenshots? Maybe a small description of each?

in civ4 it was impossible to take over a city even with some of the best units. ill wait to see what regular users have to say.

man the demo ended right as I was finally making a decent amount of money!! boooo!

I tried to take over a city with 4 spear units and an epic guy .. got slaughtered lol

caveman mode

Holy GOD

Just finished the demo. DO WANT.

Then you simply don't understand the game. Learn to use artillery and other units that weaken defenses and/or do collateral damage.

i do understand the game. i loved the first civ and civ 3. in civ 4 no matter how many artillery i put up against a city i could never take it over. just saying.

grandaliers, cannons, then once you only see the last weak few stacked units remaining use your musketmen, riflemen, or other direct offensive units.
