Dumbed down? I actually have to put some thought into building units and going into battle now.

Some people just like to complain. I guess you people are too busy buying $60 console ports. Now you pirate or don't buy the only AAA PC exclusive that I have seen in a long time.

giggle. Yeah civ 5 doesnt seem dumbed down. If you dont like all of the adviser tips you can just turn those off. I heard the AI was a bit slow in later game but i'm sure there will be a patch for that ;)

What does my siganture say !

That's what Civ 5 is !

I got a big GRUMP when the demo ended , OHHHHHHHH NOEZ !

its comments like this that make me feel justified for not supporting this entry into the series. Clearly you have never actually played any civ game before and your comments just back it up ;)

OK, let me use my unlimited resources to build the biggest stack possible and walk around. I actually have to put a little more effort into combat in this game. Have you even played Civ V? What do you want exactly the same as Civ 4 so you could complain about that too?

yup, unlimited resources, thank you for yet again proving you have no idea what your talking about, anyway im done with this thread. until someone who knows whats going on can show me that this game is worth getting im going to pass. maybe wait to steam brings it down to ~$10 :toast:

There are 6 modes to play, from dumb to no life. Beginner mode is obviously too easy, even for beginner who has never played any Civ games before. Getting ahead of your enemies a few Ages and using modern units to kill spearman is god damn funny.

on dual core e8400 it takes longer for the ai than my own turn .. really annoying

Takes ages on my i7. Thought it was just me though.

I dunno im playing a 3rd game now, maybe dumbed down wasnt the right wordage (Also the previous civs were far more then make unit stacks, so thats an ignorant assumption).

But the game seems, slow? Maybe thats cause the AI takes so long for their turns. Also the game just seems... I dunno less grand? Like your leading a state instead of a country now.

I actually quite liked the demo then played civ IV which for me was faster since I can go through the techs really quick. Right now I'm playing on marathon mode which i've been playing about 3 hours and only in the renaissance era :ohwell:

I'm bidding on the collectors edition :d
I better win!

I get some slowdowns myself but nowhere near as bad as Wizz was describing. I'm running my 860 at stock speeds too.

Yep, you haven't even read a review of the game to see what I'm talking about, nevermind even played the demo. Yet, I'm somehow the one talking out of my ass.

Go play your 360.

Yes, thats not what I should have said. I enjoyed Civ 4 quite a bit but so far I'm preferring the new system. It's just aggravating seeing people complain who have never even played the game.

That is odd. Like I said I see the slowdowns but it hasn't been that bad for me. No more than a few seconds in between turns on a standard map and it's normally not more than a couple of seconds. I'll have to see what happens on a larger map.
