Club 3D announced a special Radeon HD 5450 graphics card, which it claims, can support up to three displays working in an Eyefinity setup for productivity purposes. ATI Eyefinity technology lets you create a large display head using multiple physical displays, and is typically out of specs for the Radeon HD 5400 series GPUs. Based on the 40 nm Cedar die, the HD 5450 packs 80 stream processors, and supports DirectX 11. The Club 3D card packs 512 MB of DDR2 memory across a 64-bit wide memory interface.

To connect up to three displays, it provides one each of DVI, D-Sub, and DisplayPort connectors. The GPU is clocked at 650 MHz, with the memory at 800 MHz. The card is low-profile in design, and with its passive heatsink, occupies just one expansion slot. Low profile brackets are included in the box. Club 3D did not announce its price.

Agreed.

Great for some soft office environment tasks on multiple screens.:)

Let see about $50 buck.... It will be sweet

nah, you need 5870 Eyefiniy6 for that, why? say to you boss you can setup a wall of displays and tell you self it has alot more horse prowness for your l33t office gaming :P

Hello stuttering. It won't fly smooth with dual 1080p and above. Get like a hd5770 or something.

It's not meant for eyefinity gaming. More like an eyefinity workstation or multiple monitor office setup.

It will stutter. With that kind of specs it just won't cut it for a more professional workstation. Just one Photoshop cs4 program with a few stuff like webpages and word open up across the screen and it will crawl. That's why there are other better option. This one is more for low resolution screen like dual 1280px/1600px.

so you're saying that these cards arent capable of things that arent GPU accelerated in the first place?

Please. my radeon 4200 can handle two 1080p screens, with whatever the hell i want on them. If you lag in office/web browsing/photoshop, its not your video card you need to replace.

All depends on what you're trying to do and what the person/company is trying to accomplish. Not all companies use Photoshop, yet you have a lot of companies(like the one im interning at) that utilize multiple monitors for a variety of takes that aren't very demanding, yet are very essential to the company. This card is great for them... the ones who are very productive and need the ability to multi-task and have multiple files/pages open and readily available to them without hassle.

I see a place for this card.

Photoshop heavily utilizes GPU's if i remember correctly(have yet to use photoshop myself), Word and webpages are a different story.

photoshop barely uses GPU's. its more to stop the interface lagging than to accelerate whats actually going on - much like aero in vista/7.

yes, some things are GPU accelerated, but not many of them.

Flash is getting GPU treatment so even a few pages of flash browser can crawl a dual monitor down. Alot of program now a day that uses GPU now. You might not notice it's because you don't use it. My backup hd5770 crap out with Premiere cs4 video rendering and shut down with just one monitor on so imagine it with this card. This thing need faster memory like DDR4 or something to dual monitor. I got a similar low end card GT210 for a while and the specs is similar to this beside the new dx11 bling. It crawl on dual 1080p monitor so I wouldn't even recommended this to a dual monitor person to start with. If you got a dual monitor then you should have at least an hd3870/hd5670 and look for that 1gb 128bit and not the 512mb. More pixel need more memory and or faster type of memory.

i run 1080P dual monitor with an 8400GS without an issue 512mb of shit ram and it can handle dual webpage and inventor 2009 64bit just fine with multiple screens why the hell wouldn't a 5450. you have one poorly coded app that may not utilize this but 99% will 1080P dual screens just fine using a 5450 hell most multi screen workstations are run off of onboard intel graphics...

And it's passive! NVIDIA tends to stick farting little fans on even the lowest end cards, making them annoyingly noisy.

yes! nothing is worse than a cheap card with a noisy fan. - it costs more than the damn card is worth to replace it with a silent cooler.
