COD:WaW, Slow map loading time??

I've read a few posts suggesting a possible problem with the load time of Call of Duty World at War multi-player maps. I've tried this for myself and averaged about 22 seconds. Others have posted times frames well over 40seconds. However, others say 5 seconds. What kind of time frame are you getting when loading up a map in COD WAW?

Dude that looks about normal. Loading times depend on the HD now. It used to be more CPU orientated. Run in RAID 0 and you'll cut them times in half. :toast:

I can only assume that those who are having problems either:
-have a slow HD
-have some sort of process running in the background slowing things up

In either case hard to say really. I just thought it was odd when I read those post with people complaining about slow load times.

I have quite slow loading times too for some reason. About 40-50 seconds sometimes and my HDD is fairly fast tbh. Maybe its just the game ?

COD5 maps are alot bigger and complex than COD4, it takes everyone including me about 3-4 times longer to load, nothing to worry about

Are you sure your HD is fast enough? Did you try stopping processes that may load in the background?

I've even tried raid and its still slow. Although after the first load it gets cached and is much faster. Its strange though I usually don't have alot of processes running.

thats usual in any game my friend, cod4 loads in under 5 secs with a moderately fast HDD after loading the first time

AVs make any system slow.... i would advice to keep your computer updated along with not downloading crap, that way i have been virus free for 15 years.

Dont use AV at all. I keep the HDD well defragged.

Have you tried the 4GB_Patch since you are using a 64bit OS for a 32bit game using at least 4Gigs of ram?

Never tried that. I don't have it installed anymore since im on win7 but I'l give it a try later on.

Thats what mine is like. Even the xbox version was faster than that
