Just DL the demo and played through the 3 modes .... very impressive.

The demo it self is good coz normally you get 1 car & 1 track .... but this, 3 of each :cool: .

I am currently running it on "High" for everything with 4x Multisampling and all the goodies turned on e.g. Motion Blur @ 1280 x 1024 and while running FRAPS it puts out 25 - 30fps which to me is playable.

I tried it on Ultra to begin with, with all the other settings the same as above but it didn't perform that good, maybe 15 - 20fps max (just a guess, this is before I installed FRAPS).... but shit did it look beautiful ... definately the nicest racing game that I've seen .... it was like driving through the forrests of ESIV: Oblivion ... I was waiting to hit an Imperial Guard riding a horse or something LOL ...

The damage modelling is so realistic ... I hit a sign on the side of the track driving the Lancer Evo IX doing an awesome drift and BAAAMMM !!! I was thrown through the air at like 80km/h and the car fell apart like a leppar in a tumble dryer .... very cool.

But yeah ... all in all a very nice game but I just wish my pc could run it with everything cranked up. :pimp:

:toast: Good job Codemasters :toast:

PS. does running FRAPS reduce performance ???

is there some kind of benchmarking mode or time demo or replays that could be used for reviews?

Not too sure ... I guess maybe if someone used FRAPS and recorded a replay then uploaded it either on here (Can we even upload video on here ???) ... OR ... onto youtube then added a link or put the video in a thread like the HD 2900XT review had with the Ruby video, and posted the settings and specs used to do it.

I might try it ... I have a youtube account and FRAPS just dont know how long it would take to upload.

If I get it done right I'll post the link in here.

Cheers W1zzard :rockout:

nonono.. the idea is to get fps numbers for reviews .. not to show some video

theres an in game replay feature where you can save your replays and then play them back it should work well as this game has some really sweet gfx i run everything max besides shadows @1680x1050 and it runs smooth

i think this game may support dx10 or ps 4 because not all my options allow me to select ultra for the quality

very good .. downloading now

oh yeah!
this is probably one of the best demos i've ever played, and potentially one of the most fun driving games i've ever seen! looks absolutly gorgeous and the dynamics and game experience are great fun!

if the game itself will be as good as the demo it'll probably be a surefire hit!

codemasters really put together one hell of a game demo!
can't wait for it to be released!

damn my bad apparently there is no option to save replays im looking into timedemo now

anyone watching Monaco :)

HAHAHAHA oops done it any way ... Check here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFWgp9SkEyE

Now the video uploaded at a kind of a crap quality compared to what it looks like when I watch the one I actually recorded.

Heres the settings I am using ---

Resolution = 1280x1024
Refresh Rate = 60hz
Aspect Ratio = Normal
Gamma = 1.0
V-Sync = On
Overall Detail Level = Custom
Multisampling = 4x
Wind Effects = On
Shadows = High
Particle Effects = High
Mirror = On
Crowd = High
Foliage = High
Driver Model = High
Trees = High
Reflection = High
Motion Blur = On
Skidmarks = On

Vehicle = 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec-C
Difficulty = Amateur
Track = Germany, Avelsbachring

Now the Video doesn't show the FPS but it was going between 20 - 30fps.

Love this game definately gonna "BUY" this one.

Yeah me to .... you might be right you know. But then again there are some games I've played that only allow some settings to be put on Medium or High as apposed to High or Ultra. etc.

hmmm anybody find a "save replay" and "load replay" feature? there is a replays folder so there must be some way

OMG, Loved the vid.

Now the question is I wonder if my PC will crank it on at least Medium @ 1024x768. Im going to try it out and post results.

does anyone know what that really nifty tune they got going in the menu is?

one of the 1st games that is that has made me think i better dig deep into my pocket and buy a new video card!! i think my x850 could play it but its only supporting sm3 up!! played it on my friends 8800gts and its crazy with a xbox controler its far better then the older versions!!!

now what to get 8600gts or x2600 hmmmm have time to save till it comes out

the 2600 will probly be better

Hmmmm - awesome graphics and damage collision. *looks at rig specs* =D downloading now!

LOL you guys have no idea how hard this game is to control the steering. On tap on right the whole front right engine hitting the wall. Dont tell me that I need to tweaking the sensetivity because I did.

you need to lower the steerting saturation and maybe up the steering deadzone.
personally i like 65% steering staturation and 15% steering deadzone.
(default is 100% steering saturation and 0% steering deadzone)

makes controlling the car using the keyboard a great deal easier.

These settings are awesome and work really well for me coz im using the k/b

:respect: :rockout:

This is an amazing game... I usually don't like this type but... great.

Everytng!!!!!

i run it at 1024x768, all the setting on high, x4 multisapling AA, with motion blur turned off (because it annoys me). i dont know exactly what FPS it runs at because i didnt bother to check, but its absolutly sikly smooth and looks absolutly gorgeous.

with regards to the controls i use the numpad for acceleration and turning and the back key of the arrows for brakes and the shift key for the handbrake, unfortunantly im not coordinated enough to play the game with a manual transmission (although in real life i heavily advocate driving with a manual transmission) so i play with an atumatic transmission.

i use 65% steering saturation, 15% steering deadzone, and 90% brake pedal and gas pedal saturation.

that's about it, i think...
