What is TAGES™? The AAA Copy Protection System
TAGES™ protects software products for online distribution. Typically, the online activation process of a protected software product is performed on the first execution, with our activation software, TagesClient.
TAGES™ is a new breed of CD/DVD-ROM copy protection which overcomes the inadequacies of the commonly marketed solutions. With TAGES™, the software community takes a great leap forward against piracy by offering several technical breakthroughs. Our main technical asset is our specific mastering process which builds up a programmable "secure area" on the disc. The secured area is used to protect useful application data sets or encryption keys.
This is the latest version: Tagès drivers version 5.5.7.2 >
32 bit(x86) or
64 bit
You can, either, update it, if you need it to run certain programs or un-install it.
Quote from the download page at Tagès:
Usually, the Tagès drivers are installed during the installation of the protected exe, or at the first run.
Alternatively, the drivers can be installed/un-installed through our software, TagesSetup; it acts as a toggle, installing the drivers if they were not installed, and un-installing them if they were installed.
Do not be surprised if you do not need to reboot : it is absolutely normal in both cases, installation and un-installation.
The reason is that our drivers are NOT IN USE unless you run an application that needs them.
So, by their own info... the driver should not be loading unless the program using it is loading.
Which, would indicate, that the program using it must be running.
Run the appropriate setup and choose to un-install it.
Then, check which program/applications are not running or functioning.
If, everything is ok... you probably did not need it. Or, could be leftover from an install or un-install that did not go right.
Good-luck
