Google "overclocking guide" and learn :)

Or... I can just ask Azn Tr14dZ, seeing as he has my processor, and did it.

Or.... you can learn for yourself seeing as how every motherboard and system performs differently.

But go ahead and start blindly OCing.

Actually, if you care to look, he has my motherboard as well. I only want to OC to roughly 3.0GHz and nothing under.

Ah, but the same memory and power supply as well? Every system performs differently. No two processors are exactly alike. Not all motherboards and PC parts are equal.

Overclocking is an art. You should take the time to learn it.

The first step you can take, is adjusting the FSB speed through the BIOS, make sure your ram is either running at or below it's rated speed by using dividers(unless you have good overclockable ram).

A CPU speed is determined by a simple equation; "FSB X CPU multiplier" when you raise the FSB the cpu speeds goes up.

How far you can overclock your processor depends on the ability of the CPU, motherboard, ram, and power supply, as well as cooling.

This is just a brief introduction, it would take an hour to write a full guide.

Noone wants to help someone who refuses to help themself, knowledge is only a google away.

Can't I just wait for Mike Tyson (Azn Tr14dZ) to step into the ring and give me a lesson I wont forget. Im sure our computers aren't THAT different. Please could you check my specs and see if I'm up for OC to 3.0GHz?

Oh, and why does my BIOS say my memory is PC 4200, and all software tells me its PC 4300?

Whats the difference?

Ok, mem is fine better than mine, PSU scares me but is also fine. Cooler is BAD for ocing, might be ok for a minor overclock, but other than that, no. Also, read some guides, cannot point you to a good one, but do. Basically enough, you want to go up by about 5mHz at a time, and as the comp "hits the wall," you slowly make the vcore rise. Personally, I don't let my cpu (a northwood like yours at 3.2 stock) get over 65c or 1.55v. Read a guide, thats just the gist.

Well, would it make any difference if I just blew a giant desktop fan onto all the components?

I found out mine has a presler core. SysSpec was telling me wrong.

Well, I just wanna ask Azn Tr14dZ how he did it first. If he did it a way I cant, then I'll look up the guides. Azn Tr14dZ PLEASE TELL ME WHEN YOU ARE ON AND I NEED YOUR OC SKILLS TO PASS DOWN A GNERATION!!!

Im in South East England, so nowhere near you basically. What method did you use to overclock the CPU??? I imagine it would work for me too.

Well, you can get CPUFSB, for around $18 and when you overclock it, it saves it so that everytime you turn it on your overclock applies. If you don't want to pay, get limewire and download the full for free.
