CRT or LCD....?

actually I picked up a nice 21" dell Trinitron CRT for 20 dollars. I had a older 21" Dell Trinitron CRT before this one (before I sold it) that ran 1600x1200 @ 85hz (94hz Forced). This one runs 100hz normal :toast:

I own a EIZO F931 21 inch CRT for over 3 years and unless i buy an S-PVA i wouldn't change it.I saw many 100-300$ LCD at my friends and i don't like them at all.The colors are not natural and there is an artificial brightness all time..Is like you put a lamp with white light behind the monitor..Is annoying..I think the EIZO will have many years to come..It was unfocussed 2-3 years in the past and after i made the adjustments from that point i had no problems with it..
Also i thougth the CRT have around 1ms lag ..I have 100hz locked up to 1600x1200.At 1920x1200 i have 90hz.At 2048x1560 it works at 75hz max.I can go in 1280x1024 up to 150hz but from 100hz i feel no difference in my eyes or strain. Also i am not gaming more than 1600x1200..

CRT's have their bonuses, but honestly I'm plenty happy with my LCD.

CRT's are nice, but heavy and rarely come in the widescreen variety. New LCD's don't match the picture quality of a good CRT, but it's close enough. LCD.

Im still happy with my 21" sony crt's. Check out my max screen area. 3.1 megapixel :p Thats why I'm reluctant to go LCD. ;)

I still use as my main Monitor a Dell M992 19" CRT (Sony parts) and still to this day i have not come across a LCD that looks as good as my CRT in games, picture quality, i just love this CRT for gaming. Shame the poor old thing is starting to flicker, it is dieing :(

Only problem i find with CRT's is heat, power usage and of course SIZE, carrying this prick is a nightmare, So i use a LCD to go to my local LAN's.

Size is the biggest issue for me as it just takes up so much space on my desk, i would still love to replace it with another CRT but i think a good LCD is in order just to save space.

The higher end panels do, like IPS and PVA. Tn Film looks like crap tho. The top-end CRTs still pretty much look better than all else tho.

The 30" LCDs do 4.1MP. ;)

I don't have room for a CRT on my desk. I have a dinky metal mesh desk and the top of the desk has been bowed by the 15" CRT (and 17" CRT) that I've used in the past. There was barely enough room for the 17", however, I can fit my 19" HDTV on it with ease.
