Counter Strike is an amazing game it will reward those who put the time and effort in, climb ranks and face ever improving opposition.

However this is the cost of it all, you cannot play a casual game no more without a cheater or two on yours or the enemies team, in fact when they are not there you become the person dominating most players unless someone at your skill level or higher is on. players becomes pawns and the guy level with you or higher is the main target, this to me is how casual works and it works well in a legit game.

Match Making is utterly flawed now that the system has been manipulated so much, you won't find a huge skill difference between the LE-Global ranks no more, this is the range where deranked legit Supreme / Globals play, so for the majority of players you are not really going to go any higher than say MGE-DMG.

Cheating is also out of hand, it forces every player who is legit downwards stifling the skill they have and forcing them into lower ranks than they should be, i was Global i am now LEM because it is literally almost impossible to play a game legit now.

These are not my video's but it's EU CSGO and it's rife, massively rampant cheaters and they just don't hide it.

That's only casual.

*sigh* Unfortunately there is probably just gonna be a steady decline until there is something that makes a big change. :\ CS:GO and the community was unfortunately tarnished with the whole CS:GO Skin/Lotto Scandal, where the people who perpetrated said things got away with them. Now, where do we even go from here? Well if it isn't addressed for what it is, there is no way to make a huge comeback.

An idea of the skill level in CSGO... i played Source and destroyed.

But it was legit, admin never banned or kicked me, he watched the entire thing. All i could think of is that it's a noob server or something but meh.

I think most people have different ideas of what being a "casual gamer" is. So seeing scores like that is completely understandable. Take my roommate who only plays League but calls himself a gamer. Like :shadedshu::shadedshu:

CS:S and CS:GO are garbage, because the netcode is utter crap. I could never ever get this damn game to work consistently. Hit regs were always all over the place and fiddling with stupid rates always made things even worse. If it was like this in all games I'd blame my ISP or my incompetence, but it's just in Source based games. Unreal based games were always fine, so was Natural Selection 2 with its Spark Engine. So, it's clearly not the ISP. If I point at the head, I expect head registration, not an edge of the neck and god damn 27 in 1 damage as I always frigging get it in CS.

I never really liked CS, I find it rather plain and repetitive. Cheaters? They're in almost every game and they're highlighted by extremely popular games like CS. The more people playing something, the more you're going to hear about something to do with the game.

More like when popular youtube personalities do series where they only point out cheaters in CS.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Curious that CS:GO was chosen to represent the state of PC MP gaming...

Excuse my ignorance, but, is it really that popular?

CS:GO is definitely a popular one, check Steam and Twitch. Always near the top of the most played list. I personally never got into CS.

CS:GO is a downgrade, I mean sure it has slightly better graphics and weapon skins, yet to keep those two things they killed their biggest feature, proper skins from the likes of Gamebanana.

I really don't want a reskin of a default weapon, even if it is very good, I want a proper replacement like new animations or different gun models, something that CS and CSS can get very easily.

Skins on CS:GO are a pain to install and even harder to use since 99% of servers use server pure, on CSS it was the other way around, 99% servers allowed you to use any skins you wanted.

So yeah, CS:GO killed modding to make some cash with their weapon skin boxes.
It's also harder to find modified servers, death-run, zombie mode and whatever else there is.

Edit* They also killed what little physics was available in-game, I mean, was it really that bad to be able to shoot a barrel and make it move...

I prefer CSS over CS:GO.

For some reason I cannot understand, it is indeed that popular, if you ever check out twitch.tv its usually in the top 5 games being streamed. There are also constantly online tournaments for the game being played by pro teams.

I own the game, but I have only ever played Counter Strike for the modding side of the game.

I grew up playing Cod1 / Cod2 competitive, which I always found to be a better game imo. (Obviously the New Cods have gone to shit)
But the hitbox / recoil in CS:GO is just something I cannot deal with, to clunky for me.

You will see people hit flick shots and not be anywhere near the person they are aiming for. Skill I guess ?

EDIT: and the whole skin thing is pretty ridiculous... but I find it more ridiculous people actually pay for the ridiculous prices to satisfy their ego. lol.

Been captain of my national CS:S team years ago; played EU highest level.

It is possible to hit consistently. Even the recoil bulletspread is set in somewhat predetermined randomness.

CS:S was much more straightforward as CS:GO. Never really got into playing it competitivly. But physics are just a preference.

And then there are the cheaters, oh lordy. Those f**ks have always existed; but in some games it is just bad.
If it was me, I would prosecute them all. Link steamID to irl state ID; so a lifetime ban would mean just that.

I have some hopes for the new Quake, will try that. It is a type of game were cheating is even more noticable afterall.
Also, skill in movement can´t be cheated with. If someone has a 20/1 killratio, but cant even rocketjump decently....

As to get back on topic a little bit.
Are consoles these days decently supporting mouse+keybord?
I would like to see more games become playable against each other on multiple platforms.
But it is like Consoles are afraid their multiplayer gamers will be desroyed by mouse-PC gamers; and PC is afraid people will just buy a PS4 for 400bucks instead of a PC.

some pc games let you use controllers in multiplayer

if it's competitive, it's not about being afraid, it's supposed to be even for everyone (even though on PC, someone with weak hardware is at a disadvantage, or someone reducing graphics settings to see better has an advantage)

i havent looked into it, but there are adapters that convert kb/mouse into console input

They've done it in favor of stupid god awful retarded random "crates". And millions of idiots spend hundreds of dollars each on ugly ass generic reskins of existing models. Where FPSBanana featured total redesigns that were really awesome. Noob Inc was my favorite weapon modder for CS:S. And I could even go goofy by replacing the SAW heavy machine gun with a rotary chaingun. Or P90 with a dual MP5 with really badass reload animation. Or dual elites replaced with Grammaton Cleric pistols. Or the Five7 with Lara Croft's HK USP Match. Forget any of that with CS:GO.

I have said this in many other recent CSGO threads. Dont do matchmaking its terrible whether you are prime or not. 99% of the time people a toxic retards. Try CEVO and Faceit or if you want to pay, ESEA. Hacking is close to nonexistent on CEVO and Faceit, and not at all on ESEA. They all have pugs which from my experience unless you are totally trash have been very enjoyable experience in regards to how other people you are playing with or against are. Only time i play matchmaking is if anyone from my premade teams want to try and get some wins for ranking up.

Also all the 3rd party service providers i have mentioned run 128 tick servers and much higher level of overall skilled players, so it can be much more competitive. They all run their own open league tournaments, skrimages, etc.

The pros do some crazy stuff in CS. Part of the reason i love the game because even for me im able to pull off some crazy 1v3 or more clutches and its a great feeling.

I started watching csgo pro matches during ESL Cologne One earlier this year.

Things you never see online because netcode is absolute garbage. Aim at a wooden crate across the map and you'll nail a headshot behind you during a jump while performing felatio on self. Surprise someone with P90 at 1m range, pointing at their back and chances are the game will somehow manage to make 3/4 of fired bullets miss the target entirely...

I havent had any of the netcode issues you speak of. Maybe youre just bad at the game.

More often than not people who complain about a game being bad, theyre just bad at the game.

Then why I don't suck in any other game, just Source based ones? These are consistently garbage where others have their moments of misbehaving, but nowhere near this horrifying random nonsense of CS.

I got CS:GO a while back and i tried it.
I was disappointed at first because i was used to the 1.6 and Sourse, but minutes later i realised how much the game has improved to a newer modern standard of games.
The phisics of weapon aiming and hit percentage is so much improved, that is nearly realistic.
At first i had my hard times figuring out the weapons, but as soon as i did i was just as good as on the oldet CS games (1.6 and Source).
The thing is you need to know realism in these kind of games.
Try going at a shooting range with a P90 on 10m away target and see how much you hit the target. Out of 30 rounds i bet 10 will be in target, 5 to 6 in legs and arms, 2 in body, 1 in hearth and 1 went in head since that 1 round was the first one you poped when aiming to the head on clear target sheet.
Rifles and pistols would be a different story since they are more precise, but you get my point.
