Could be some licensing restriction from the publisher that had a renewal timeout which wasn't renewed (pub out of business or under new management). The same happened to a relatively popular game from GOG about 5 years ago, of course I can't remember the name now as I didn't get it in time. If you bought the game while available then you still own it, especially if you downloaded the "Offline Installers." LOL love that euphemism for: You actually own this. But once it was pulled it became permanently unavailable for purchase.

Is it avaliable for download if you have bought it?

Seems like it's already gone from GOG.. Why did they remove it?
The statement of 2K was included in the posted article from IGN. ;) "Spec Ops: The Line will no longer be available on online storefronts, as several partnership licenses related to the game are expiring." "While 2K hasn't provided specifics as to what partnerships are expiring, Spec Ops: The Line contains several pieces of licensed music, including Jimi Hendrix's iconic rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Expiring music licenses have been the reason for many delistings in the past, and that would seem to be a probable reason here."

This is very often the reason for removal of single player games. Multi player games however mostly getting removed because the sales revenue doesn't cover anymore the server costs. Or that a game becomes incompatible with a new Windows version and instead of patching it they just remove it.

Of course you can still download & play it if you own it. :) Else it would be robbery, lol.

Yes, that's what GOG said at the time for that earlier game. I was watching with interest in case this ever came up again and frankly I don't trust that the original pub wouldn't go back and request/demand that GOG remove the game in entirety sometime later. And as that game will certainly not be getting any updates, that offline installer is as good as you'll ever get so just download it.

I have too many games from GOG (266 and counting) to download but I certainly have my favorites and those installers are backed up on the family server with all the other stuff. Mostly old enough they'll never get updates but I check about every other year or so.

And you're right, it's blatant theft.

Not if the courts say it's not.

A bit off topic, but last weekend I downloaded the installers for every game I have on there. Only 100 games, but 600GB...

EA offers special prices for some of its old classics:

Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection $12

Other games like Populous, SimCity 3000, Dungeon Keeper, each for like 2 bucks.

if you bought the red alert games when they first had price slashed to $1.99 a couple days ago, you are now paying $3 extra to "complete your collection" kind of lame.

Just to be clear: the Ultimate Collection is currently on sale for $9.88, but if you already spent $6 on 3 of the red alert games a few days ago as I did, now to complete your collection you have to spend almost 7 more, so 3-4 bucks all said and done more than if you just bought the bundle. i'm prob just going to refund. kind of lame they charge extra for those of us listened to the pcgamer article and dove in

That's some weird math bro...

The base price for each of those games is slightly more than $9 (a drop from $15~19 before March). After sale they are around $1.5~2, and with the bundle they are half that. You already own three, so you get 9 games for a total ~$7, that's ~$0.8 per game, less than the listed individual price.
I guess you can try to refund then buy the bundle, but are 3 bucks really worth the hassle?

On a side note: Some of those titles were delisted (or weren't listed in the first place?) from Steam ages ago, and were relisted two days ago. I know at least Generals and Renegade weren't available, at least for my region. It's good that EA brought them back.

75% off Grid Legends on Steam. This is one of my favourite Grid games with an interesting, amusing and non-cheesy campaign story which I was lucky enough to get free on Amazon Games a while back.
