And the pc gamers who got their hopes up just got shafted :shadedshu
I mentioned somewhere while back , developers admitted it would be a bad/low quality port.
But how many people do you think expected something as bad as what it turned out to be?
when they showed the game off to the press it was actually in windowed mode lol
30 fps, stuttering, 1024x720 frame buffer. "it supports mouse and keyboard but... please play with a controller" lol
If it does come out this bad with no options to adjust; They will lose a lot of customers.
just realized steam offers refunds lol thats gonna be a mess
Surely it isn't that hard to make a game render at a specific resolution? What engine did they make this game with?
I thought all 3d games it was just a case of changing a few parameters.
yea i was looking forward to this but From Software dropped the ball this is an example when OUT SOURCING makes sense, in all honesty just about anyone could have probably done a better port job, the Developer obviously doesnt understand the PC platform and their failure shows. To bad really wanted to enjoy this game but it was obvious how bad it was going to be when the price dropped another $10 a month ago lol, it was getting price slashed before it even released to the Point it will be nearly $20 cheaper than the console re release. Still it sucks, such a great game series will probably never come back to the PC platform they pretty much did nothing more than waste a bunch of money TRYing to cater to fans when they really couldnt pull it off and do to not giving it to an experienced team, they pretty much doomed the series from ever showing up on the PC platform again in the future.
the extra content in the PC version is coming to console this winter so if someone can't figure out how to raise the FPS to 60 there is no reason to really buy this unless you never played it. a lot of people sold their copy on console for this and probably regret it now.
i sold my console lol as the only game worth playing on it was Demon Souls aka PS3, but i grew bored and sold it off, which i dont regret i was hoping to actually buy this title and support from software, but while i appreciate their effort to bring the title to PC, i just can't see buying this title, theres nothing really wrong with it its esssentially the console experience on PC, but in general if i wanted a console experience on my PC id just buy the damn console and be done with it lol. Alot of it has to do with how Japanese developers code their games but no excuse really when others manage just fine.
Koei, Capcom, Square Enix even managed to get Last Remnant working reasonably well on PC using an engine they never used before aka UE. regardless this is an example where they SHOULD have seeked outside help anything they could have to potentially look at problem regions in a different way.
That said if i had the console version and sold it to get it on PC i damn well WOULD regret it lol, as there really is no point to this PC version at this stage.
Very sad, I "was" considering purchasing.
you should still play it. great game. the hardest game I have played this generation. very unforgiving with mistakes.
I'll pick it up when its super cheap on steam. I just wish some effort was put into it. I would have forked for a decent amount of dough.
for a full release running properly id have paid the full $60 and then paid for DLC on top of that, just with the way it is now its not worth the $40 asking price. maybe $5 steam sale in the future.
Dark Souls is unlike anything on the market. I paid $60 and feel it was money well spent.
Anyone know any developers?
Send them to From Software and get this shits sorted.
I'd still buy it if it support true resolution changes ,60 fps and AA.
Yeah, solve your problems... Your a big company, put some job ad's out there and hire some people who know how to do it. What kind of excuses is that it is too challenging. Hire some people and get it done.
maybe they will patch it
lol doubt it gets patched it is what it is a port that will not sell well and will see the franchises chance of PC versions in the future die with its inadequate attempt.
Japan doesn't have the same affinity for PC Gaming like the west. it's arcade and console over there which is great because I love arcades
Dark Souls is out on Steam.
apparently someone fixed the resolution problem
If they fixed the resolution, then I don't think it's THAT bad then. I mean, it's bad enough that it's probably gonna be riddled with bugs because its a port.....but YAY for better graphics!!! I think lol
I think it's still capped at 30FPS but I doubt it will take long to get past that.
here is a before and after so to speak
so essentially From Software was just lazy? and didnt bother try at all lulz as expected
