Hi guys

I know you have had alot of questions like this, but each situation is different.

I only have one question...

I have 1Gb of Corsair CM2X1024-6400 - XMS2 in my system running single channel obviously.

Now, I have another 1Gb DDR2-800 chip, but its an Apacer...and I want to put these two in dual channel. Can you see any possible problems with this. It'll be only temporary till I can buy another Corsair chip.

All memory timings are still on stock setting in the bios. I haven't OCed anything yet.

Thanks for any info:toast:

You should be fine installing it, however it's not advised to miss-match pair as it is more likely to cause issues.

To make sure it works, I'd find out the timings and voltages of both sticks. For example, your Corsair is 5-5-5-18 (right?) check your voltage and compare them to the other stick.

Install your Apacer and set the timings to the same as the Corsair, if you think it can handle them. Then I'd move the voltage from 1.8 to 1.9 to be safe.

Keep us posted & I hope that helps.

I know its a bit late but...

You shouldnt have any problems at all. The two sticks would just clock down or run the same timings at the worst settings they each have. (For example a set of 5-5-5-15 800mhz put with a set of 4-4-4-12 667mhz would both run at 5-5-5-15 667mhz).

Even still, it may work, but it would be better to get matched sticks. I have heard of only problems with mis matching them.

it will work , but they take the slow ram timengs (slow ram timegns mean high ram timengns) that mean booth ram run as 667
